Emma Samms has got engaged to GB News star Simon McCoy, with the latter confirming the happy news. The English actress, 61, is best known for playing Fallon Carrington Colby in 1980s American television series Dynasty.

Simon, 59, who joined GB News this year after almost two decades at the BBC, confirmed their plans to wed, saying: “Yes, it’s true.”

“We are both so happy, as are our children,” he went on to tell Richard Eden for the Daily Mail.

The couple have not yet set a date for their nuptials but hope to get married next year.

“We shall celebrate in the spring, when it’s safe to share a party,” the newsreader said.

London-born Emma found fame in the early 1980s playing Holly Sutton Scorpio in US daytime soap opera General Hospital.

She first appeared in the programme in 1982 and stayed for three years, before landing her role in Dynasty.

Over the years, the actress has returned to the long-running show on many occasions, mostly recently last year.

Despite the show being filmed in Hollywood, Emma now lives in the Cotswolds with her fiancé.

She has also starred in British medical dramas Casualty, Holby City and Doctors.

When the actress marries Simon next year it will be her fourth marriage.

Emma was previously wed to Bansi Nagji from 1991 to 1992 and to Tim Dillon for a year in 1994.

A year after her divorce was finalised she married psychiatrist John Holloway.

The former couple had a more successful union and were married for seven years.

They have two children together.

Simon is also a parent and shares a grown up son with his first wife.

He later married fellow BBC star Victoria Graham, separating in 2019 after 12 years of marriage.

Simon is currently on TV presenting the GB News breakfast show with co-star Kirsty Gallacher.

Meanwhile, Emma, who suffered from long Covid after contracting COVID-19 last year, organised a charity event to raise funds for more research into the condition.

A Dynasty reunion was held in March, bringing together some of the biggest stars of the show including Stephanie Beacham and Heather Locklear.

Announcing the event on Instagram in February, she wrote: “I wanted to find a way to raise funds for research into Long COVID so I’ve put together this.. it’s going to be so much fun! #longcovid #dynasty.”
