Dove Cameron Calls Out Society: ‘We’re So Addicted To Controversy’

Dove Cameron is speaking out alongside many celebs about Pete Davidson and mental health, and how society reacts.

In a series of tweets, the 22-year-old performer said that was going on with Pete was “heartbreaking” and “having a kind, gentle, fulfilling experience on this earth while we’re here.”

“I don’t want to specifically tie this to anything, but everything that’s going on with pete davidson is so heartbreaking and really points to the backwards, dark nature of our society that we’ve built,” Dove wrote on Twitter. “We’re so addicted to controversy, and we don’t want to feel pain, so we try to inflict it and pass it off onto others, and we’ve become so numb to the concept of other people’s pain that we objectify and dehumanize everyone around us (including celebrities). it’s truly horrifying and so the opposite of what it means to be a human being.”

“truly, NOTHING matters except having a kind, gentle, fulfilling experience on this earth while we’re here, & loving the ones who love us in return. please, consider the repercussions & the energy that you actively put into the world when you get on the internet, and in general,” she continued.

When a fan suggested that if he was going to harm himself he wouldn’t be so public about it, Dove opened up a little about her father’s passing. See the tweets below…
