Doug Hutchison claims Courtney Stodden faked pregnancy and miscarriage

Doug Hutchison claims ex-wife Courtney Stodden FAKED pregnancy and miscarriage in ploy to get reality show when the couple were ‘completely broke’

Courtney Stodden faked a pregnancy and miscarriage for money, her ex-husband Doug Hutchison is claiming.

Doug’s upcoming memoir Flushing Hollywood: Fake News, Fake Boobs exposes intimate details about the couple’s relationship including an alleged scheme they came up with together when they found themselves desperate for cash.

The 59-year-old says Courtney, 25, was the one who came up with the idea but he went along with it after being out of work and blacklisted by Hollywood.

Scheme: Doug Hutchison claims ex-wife Courtney Stodden faked her pregnancy and miscarriage in 2016 to get press, money and ‘possibly a reality show’

‘I’m not proud to admit this, but again, this book is about the truth… I don’t justify it in my book. I’m actually ashamed that we did it,’ he told Fox News.

‘I think that in some ways it was immoral. It was very unfair to those people out there who sincerely suffered from miscarriages. But at that point in time, we were completely broke.’

Doug says that after burning through his savings and unable to get a job, Courtney ‘came up with a strategy’.

‘I’m not trying to blame her, but it was her idea… She wanted to convince the public that she was pregnant so we can get paid for interviews and possibly a reality show.

‘It was all about survival. It was all about a way to make rent, to pay the bills. It was desperation. I was an accomplice. I felt at the time there was no other choice in order to survive… We didn’t think about the consequences, the future.’

In 2016 the starlet was pictured around Los Angeles showing off a small baby bump before announcing on social media that she’d lost the baby.

Doug continued, ‘Here we were going to the press, going to our families, our friends and announcing we lost our baby. We gained a lot of empathy. And the sad part is a lot of women came forward on social media saying how sorry they were because they went through the same thing. The press bought it, the public bought it, the family bought it — everybody bought it.

He says it was ‘devastating’ to see the messages of support the couple received.

‘I don’t want to speak for Courtney, but I almost feel she became a poster celebrity and was able to give those people comfort. I know that sounds twisted, but that was the mindset.’

‘So enough. It’s time to reveal the truth, as difficult as it is,’ he writes. ‘I’m not proud to admit this chapter at all. But all I can say is desperation is the mother of invention. And the invention was unfortunate… We maintained an illusion that we were living large. But it was far from the truth.’

The couple announced they were expecting in May 2016 and just three months later in July revealed they’d suffered a miscarriage.

In her announcement, Courtney said in an Instagram: ‘Babies lost in the womb were never touched by fear, they were never cold, never hungry, never alone & importantly always knew love.’

Meanwhile, Doug says he lost his career because of his marriage to Courtney, who was just 16 when they wed.

The Green Mile actor, now 59, told Fox News in an interview that he was blacklisted by Hollywood after his relationship with 16-year-old Stodden came to light.

Doug said that he had assumed their 34-year age gap would attract attention – but was shocked when his professional life nosedived. He blamed the decision to marry the teen bride for causing his Hollywood peers to shun him and said the relationship cost him his friends and family.

‘She was 16 and I was 50, so I knew our union was going to turn heads, but I didn’t realize the impact it would truly have,’ he told Fox.

‘I didn’t realize that in marrying Courtney, my manager would drop me, my agent would drop me. I was blacklisted. I was blackballed from casting directors.’

Despite the impact on his professional life, he said he did not regret the relationship.

Asked if he was worried about ‘burning any bridges’, the actor said he had ‘nothing to lose.’

‘The concern of burning bridges is over when you tell the truth,’ he said.

Hutchison said he was taken by surprise when his family and friends disowned him over the May-December relationship and he was dropped by his agent.

‘I shot my career in the head for love,’ he said. ‘And in doing so, I lost my family and friends. I was suddenly on the Titanic and everyone was fleeing except for me and Courtney.’

Hutchison said he had no regrets about about the relationship, which he described as a ‘bittersweet journey’.

No regrets: ‘I don’t believe in living a life of regret,’ he said. ‘I think that every choice we make, we make them for a reason… I have absolutely no regrets in my life.’ The pair are seen in 2012

‘I don’t believe in living a life of regret,’ he said. ‘I think that every choice we make, we make them for a reason… I have absolutely no regrets in my life.

‘Do I wish I would have handled certain aspects of my life differently or said… some things differently? Yes — like everybody else. But my marriage to Courtney is not one of them. I regret none of it. It was a beautiful and powerful journey. A bittersweet journey with Courtney.’

Stodden and Hutchison finalized their divorce late last month, following a two-year separation.

Explaining why it took so long to complete the divorce proceedings, Stodden explained: ‘The reason why it [took] so long is that I was filling it out incorrectly.

‘This is my first divorce so I was filling out the paperwork all wrong for two years.’

She continued: ‘That entire process just ripped my soul out. And his too. We still have a lot of love for each other.’

In their divorce settlement, Stodden got to keep all of their furniture and appliances while Hutchison was allowed to keep their 2001 Jeep Wrangler, according to TMZ.

The couple split their life insurance policy in half, and Courtney took financial responsibility of three of their credit cards.

Stodden posted a risqué bathroom selfie of herself to celebrate her official divorce from Hutchison. ‘I’m officially divorced today,’ Courtney wrote in the caption for her roughly 272,000 followers along with the hashtag ‘#divorceday’

Hutchison, who now lives in Royal Oak, Michigan, got custody of their six-year-old Italian Greyhound Dourtney.

Hutchison said that when he left Hollywood for Detroit in September 2017 after the breakdown of his relationship he had run out of funds.

‘Hollywood is one of the most challenging places to hold onto your character, your faith. But I left because I felt I had nothing left. My marriage was over. My career was over. I was broke. There was nothing keeping me in Hollywood.’ he said.

In January Stodden shared a photo of herself in a public restroom sticking her tongue out while wearing a black bustier, tan sweater and denim shorts.
