Demi Moore has criticised ex-husband Ashton Kutcher for ‘shaming’ her by sharing a picture of her in her underwear during their marriage in the newest bombshell from her tell-all memoir.

In the latest war of words between the pair, the actress, 56, recalled in her autobiography Inside Out the moment the actor, 41, made what he thought was a ‘good-natured joke’ by sharing the snap in 2009.

Her recent comments come just after Ashton took a thinly-veiled swipe at Demi on Twitter, claiming he had resisted posting a ‘snarky tweet’ for the sake of his family – wife Mila Kunis and their children Wyatt, four, and Dimitri, two.

Discussing her battle with alcoholism at the time, and how Ashton would humiliate her by posting images of her while drunk, she writes: ‘It was [..] confusing. Ashton had encouraged me to go in this direction.

‘When I went too far, though, he let me know how he felt by showing a picture he’d taken of me resting my head on the toilet the night before.

‘It seemed like a good natured joke at the time. But it was really just shaming.’

In 2009, at the peak of her troubles, Demi hit the headlines when Ashton shared the snap alongside the caption, ‘Shhh don’t tell wifey’.

The snap saw the Ghost star leaning down while in her underwear, which was taken after the pair had in the Turks and Caicos Islands following the wedding of her ex Bruce Willis and Emma Heming.

After coming under fire at the time, Ashton was forced to hit back at his critics.

He said: ‘Let’s back off a notch. It was a bikini, not underwear, so people might have been confused. She was ironing my pants.

‘That sounds weird, but we were on a beach and she was wearing a bikini, ironing my pants! I took a picture of her and asked her before I put it out to the world.

‘And then I sent it really quick. It’s a good butt – it’s a really good butt. And people saw it. You could see that at the beach.’

Demi started drinking again after struggling to cope with miscarrying a baby girl at six months, blaming herself for the tragedy.

She recalled: ‘I wanted to be that girl. The girl who could have a glass of wine at dinner, or do a tequila shot at a party. In my mind, Ashton wanted that, too. So I tried to become that: a fun, normal girl.’

This comes after Ashton fired back at his ex-wife Demi following her shock claims about their relationship in her explosive memoir.

The actor urged fans to ‘text him for [the] truth’ as he took a thinly-veiled swipe at Demi, claiming he had resisted posting a ‘snarky tweet’ for the sake of his family – wife Mila Kunis and their children Wyatt, four, and Dimitri, two.

He tweeted on Tuesday: ‘I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet. Then I saw my son, daughter, and wife and I deleted it.’

Furious: He tweeted, ‘I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet. Then I saw my son, daughter, and wife and I deleted it,’ followed with an uplifting quote from his dad Larry

For truth: The 41-year-old actor also shared a phone number for his followers, writing, ‘For truth text me’. Texting the number comes with an automated response welcoming fans to his ‘community’

It was followed by an uplifting quote from his dad Larry: ‘Life is good -Larry Kutcher.’

Encouraging his followers to contact him, he shared a phone number alongside the words: ‘For truth text me.’

Texting the number comes with an automated response welcoming fans to his ‘community’ but no promise of a real reply.

The tweets come after the release of Moore’s revealing memoir Inside Out, which sheds light on her eight-year marriage to Kutcher and 2013 divorce, revealing they had two threesomes and accusing him of cheating twice.

Demi insisted she had forewarned her ex about the book’s content, telling Ellen DeGeneres, ‘I have, yes. I tried to keep the perspective on my story.’

In a statement to UsWeekly earlier this month, a spokesman for the star said: ‘Ashton knew what was coming.

‘He had a heads up on what is in the book. He’s not mad or disappointed.

‘This is Demi’s truth, and he always felt sympathetic toward her. He knows her story and that her upbringing was difficult.’

However, Kutcher’s social media posts suggest he is not happy with her claims.

The actress was married to Kutcher from 2005 to 2013, having divorced Bruce Willis in 2000.

Although the book recounted some of the more positive points, including their sex life, it also revealed some less-than-flattering anecdotes about her ex.

She described how she became pregnant with Kutcher’s baby, but miscarried at six months, leading to increased substance abuse.

The actress spoke with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America to promote her new memoir.

She also revealed the painstaking lengths she went to to try to save her relationship with Kutcher, who was 15 years her junior.

Despite having three older children from her first marriage, she was desperate to have a baby with Kutcher.

Revealing memoir: The tweets come after the release of Moore’s revealing memoir Inside Out, which sheds light on her marriage to Kutcher

They became pregnant in 2003 shortly after dating, when she was 42, but miscarried six months into the pregnancy. It was a secret at the time.

Moore reveals in the book that she had picked a name for the baby girl – Chaplin Ray.

Demi admitted she blamed herself for the miscarriage during her relationship with Kutcher and started drinking again to deal with the pain.

The pair married in 2005 and had fertility treatment in the hope that she would get pregnant again.

However, her drinking got worse and she says she also began abusing Vicodin, a highly-addictive opioid painkiller.

Moore recalled breaking her 20-year sobriety after Kutcher told her: ‘I don’t know if alcoholism is a real thing.’

They tried again for a baby, this time using fertility drugs, but it didn’t work.

‘I can’t even bring fully to words how lost and desperate, confused… I really lost sight of everything that was right in front of me which is the family I had.

‘The weight that it put on Ashton, it’s kind of a natural thing to pull back when somebody’s clinging too tight,’ she said.

Additionally, she claimed that he cheated on her twice after he made her feel pressured to have threesomes.

Moore also recounted suffering a near-fatal seizure, resulting from a drug overdose, following their split in 2012.

She recently told WSJ of their current relationship: ‘It’s friendly. But we’re not… hanging out.’

Book launch: Demi was supported by Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson and Liv Tyler at the launch party for her memoir on Monday

During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show on Tuesday, Demi was asked about some of the revelations, and blamed her own insecurities.

‘I don’t think it should be implied that he instigated [the threesomes]. He expressed something that was of a fantasy and it was in my efforts to want to please and be what I thought he wanted’, she said.

Demi confessed she felt ‘addicted’ to her husband, who was 15 years her junior, and put pressure on herself to keep the passion alive.

‘It was a misguided sense of not really wanting to look maybe at the harder question or what was really missing. I really felt like I had created an addiction to him, [a] co-dependency, in a way I never had before. I never had that kind of attachment.’

In Demi’s tell-all, which went on sale on Tuesday, the Ghost and Indecent Proposal star makes multiple harrowing revelations, including her rape by an older man when she was 15 after an man paid her alcoholic mother $500.

Breaking sobriety: Moore recalled breaking her 20-year sobriety after Kutcher told her: ‘I don’t know if alcoholism is a real thing’

Multiple affairs: Additionally, she claimed that he cheated on her twice after he made her feel pressured to have threesomes

The autobiography also discusses her marriages and divorces to Bruce Willis, her battle with drug and alcohol addiction and and raising the three daughters she shares with Bruce – Rumer, 31, Scout, 28, and Tallulah, 25.

After her divorce from second husband Bruce, her love life involved a string of younger men.

These included actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire as well as Madonna’s business partner Guy Oseary, for whom she jumped out of a cake in a skimpy bikini for his 30th birthday.

Demi also detailed how she met Ashton in 2003, whose mother admitted had ‘messed around in college with drugs, but nothing hard’.

But before she and Kutcher were officially divorced, Moore suffered a seizure after smoking synthetic cannabis and inhaling nitrous oxide in 2012, the Times relayed.

She was with her daughter Rumer at the time who joined her siblings Scout and Tallulah by going on to shun her. Soon after Moore went into rehab.

‘Part of my life was clearly unraveling,’ Moore told the Times. ‘I had no career … No relationship.’

Near-fatal overdose: Moore also recounted suffering a near-fatal seizure, resulting from a drug overdose, following their split in 2012

Her drug abuse led to the alienation of her younger children, Scout and Tallulah – and the acrimony put paid to a book deal involving a memoir Miss Moore had wanted to write about the mothers and daughters in her family.

At the time she had a memoir deal and planned to write about the mother-daughter relationship but put plans on hold.

Moore finally started writing this month’s release two years ago with the help of The New Yorker writer Ariel Levy who says they divulged everything with an aim to remove anything that was too private during the editing process but they didn’t cut anything in the end.

The Times reports she said: ‘There’s nothing I have to protect. Really.’ Moore also says in the book that she stays sober because she doesn’t want her power taken away again.

Demi also recalls cheating on her first husband, musician Freddy Moore, now 69. She was just 17 when they married in 1980 and they divorced five years later.

‘The night before we got married, instead of working on my vows, I was calling a guy I’d met on a movie set. I  snuck out of my own bachelorette party and went to his apartment.

Second husband: She was wed to Bruce Willis in the 80s and 90s and they are seen in 1996 with two of their daughters, Scout and Rumer

Infidelity: Demi also recalls cheating on her first husband, musician Freddy Moore, now 69. She was just 17 when they married in 1980 and they divorced five years later

‘What did I do that? Why didn’t I go and see the man I was committing to spend the rest of my life with to express my doubts? Because I couldn’t face the face that I was getting married to distract myself from grieving the death of my father,’ she wrote.

‘Because I felt there was no room to question what I’d already put in motion. I couldn’t get out of the marriage, but I could sabotage it.’

In one of her most shocking revelations, Demi describes being raped aged 15 by a man who paid her alcoholic mother $500 afterwards in an interview on Monday morning to promote her new memoir.

When she was a teenager, after years of moving around the country, her mother Virginia King began taking her to bars so that they together would get attention from men.

Moore recalled how after one outing, she returned home to find an older man who had a key to their home. She said he raped her then afterwards asked: ‘How does it feel to be wh***d out for $500?’

‘It was rape and a devastating betrayal,’ she wrote in the book.

Asked by Sawyer if she thought she was pimped out by her mother, she said: ‘I think in my deep heart, no. I don’t think it was a straight forward transaction but she still did give him the access and put me in harm’s way.’

In her final interview to promote her new memoir on Good Morning America on Wednesday, Demi described having a seizure in front of one of her daughters after smoking synthetic marijuana and how her ‘strange’ behavior and drug use drove them apart.

In the segment aired on Wednesday, she described the frightening seizure she had in 2012 while taking drugs at a party with her daughter, Rumer.

She had smoked synthetic marijuana and had a seizure which caused her body to ‘flail’ and made her daughter feel like she was going to die.

‘Everyone else was seeing my body flailing, my daughter terrified that she was gonna see me die right in front of her,’ she said.

‘Within me, I was in a place that was thinking, “Wow, how did I get here. Isn’t this interesting?” And then the next thought was, “I wonder if I can get out.”

‘All of a sudden I was back in my body. I was being given a choice,’ she said, saying that while medically she may not have been close to death, ’emotionally’, she was.

‘Something had to give. When you come up to those places you either go in or go out,’ she said.

Meanwhile, in another explosive segment from her new tell-all memoir, Demi revealed she used to be obsessed with her body.

Demi detailed how she used to heavily diet and work out to look every inch the Hollywood siren for her blockbuster films.

‘I didn’t feel like I could stop exercising,’ the brunette explained

The craze began in 1992 when she as cast opposite Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson in the military courtroom drama A Few Good Men.

Moore wanted to look her best in the uniform she was asked to wear.

Gym rat: ‘I didn’t feel like I could stop exercising,’ the ex of Bruce Willis and Ashton Kutcher writes in her book.

Not much food: ‘When I was making Striptease, for breakfast I would measure out a half cup of oatmeal and prepare it with water, then for the rest of the day I would have only protein and some vegetables — and that was it,’ she said

‘It was my job to fit into that unforgiving military uniform I’d be wearing in two months in A Few Good Men,’ said the star, who had already made a name for herself in the films St Elmo’s Fire and About Last Night… with Rob Lowe.

‘Getting in shape for that movie launched the obsession with working out that would consume me over the next five years. I never dared let up.’

Following extreme pressure to look in shape following a string of movies, including Indecent Proposal and Striptease, the Vanity Fair cover vet finally stopped heavily dieting when she made G.I. Jane in 1997.

In December 2018, Demi was rumoured to be dating Serbian fashion stylist Masha Mandzuka.

The star was seen doting on the brunette’s daughter Rumi, now four, amid claims they had been secretly seeing each other for over two years, according to Radar Online.

Masha was one of the first people to congratulate her on her new book, sharing, ‘I adore you and am beyond proud of all that you are and I am honoured to be in your life.’

The couple previously played onscreen couple Kelso and Jackie in That ’70s Show from 1998 to 2006.
