The following story contains spoilers for FBoy Island Season 1 on HBO Max.
From the start of FBoy Island, CJ Franco seemed to have eyes on another CJ: Casey Johnson. The two had an instant connection, and their up-and-down relationship (with much reality drama included) eventually crashed and burned when he was accidentally eliminated in a surprise double elimination during Episode 4. “New” Jarred Evans wasn’t even part of the show from the very beginning, but when Casey was eliminated he began planting his seeds to romance CJ, eventually building a formidable connection with her of his own. But when Casey returned to the competition at the start of Episode 7, it became clear that these would be the two main competitors for CJ’s affection.
In the grand finale, CJ made the choice (and, frankly, it was the right one) to go with the supportive relationship New Jarred offered over the sure toxic romance that would come with Casey. She would be the only one of the three women in the cast to choose one of the “Nice Guys,” as Sarah Emig picked the true piece of shit Garrett (an FBoy who attempted to take all the prize money and break up with her), while Nakia picked “OG” Jared (an FBoy who was at least decent enough to split the prize money).
But now that CJ made (seemingly) the healthy and smart choice, there’s one lingering question, considering FBoy Island wasn’t exactly filmed yesterday: is this couple still together?
Are CJ Franco and “New” Jarred Evans still together?
To be entirely up front with you, it’s unclear. Shows like FBoy Island (and other reality dating shows) usually have an embargo after the show’s finale upon which contestants and characters are allowed to reveal what their relationship statuses actually currently are. Obviously, neither CJ nor New Jarred wanted to post anything on Instagram (or elsewhere) that would spoil the ending of the show. But now that the show is over and we saw that CJ chose New Jarred, it should be fair game, right?
Well, both parties are still playing pretty coy. While CJ and New Jarred have both been posting a lot—particularly with some of their Fboy Island costars; maybe there’s a reunion special being filmed?—but not necessarily tipping off their relationship status.
Except for in one distinct spot (that we could find). New Jarred posted an Instagram asking what fans thought of the FBoy Island finale. We saw him come guns blazing from the start and strut his confidence, and he could certainly just be flaunting his win here.
“Came in hot & ended it even hotter .. What did you guys think of the FBOY Island Finale ?” he wrote.

Could be anything, really. But if you look a bit closer in the post’s comments, you’ll see our first piece of real evidence that the winning couple—and the only “Nice Guy” chosen—are still a success story. CJ commented on Jarred’s post with a series of heart emojis, and he responded to her comment with a heart of his own (albeit in a different color).
Now, this could just be friendly. But we’re grasping at straws here! Both also follow each other on Instagram right now as well. Which isn’t much, but, again, it’s still something. We’ll get the answer eventually, but for now, we’d say signs are pointing toward yes.
