David Beckham raises a glass of Scotch whisky as the Haig Club partner marks Burns Night with celebratory posts

David Beckham’s Instagram profile was brimming with Burns Night content on Tuesday as the Haig Club partner marked the celebratory event. 

The Inter Miami CF president, 46, revelled in the ‘great memories celebrating Burns Night’ with a series of Instagram Story reels, whereby he represented the Scotch whisky brand by pouring shots of the alcoholic beverage. 

The montage proceeded to show the former pro footballer, dressed in typical suave style, preparing haggis and hosting guests.

Raising his own glass of Scotch whisky, a high-spirited David wrote to his 70.9million followers: ‘Happy Burns night A small toast @haigclub’.   

Burns Night is a celebration of the life and poetry of Scottish poet Robert Burns and is normally held on or near the poet’s birthday, 25 January. 

David ensured that Scotland’s heritage was fully consolidated in his Instagram Stories, as he penned, Slàinte Mhath’ – the nation’s cheers – while slicing open the haggis.

Of being a Haig Club partner, the father-of-four said: ‘Over the years I’ve had brands come to me wanting me to be involved in certain things and I know whether it’s right or wrong straight away. 

‘Meeting Diageo, as soon as they told me about Haig Club, the Haig family and the history behind the whisky with Haig, I was in.’  

Last week, the multi-millionaire added yet another string to his illustrious business bow, lending a hand in designing a collection of 14 suites for a £580-per-night luxurious hotel in Macao, dubbed ‘The Las Vegas of the East.’

The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden reports that the footballer has created a series of rooms that will be available to book by invitation-only, with each space boasting his portrait on the wall, as well as his initials monogrammed on the linens.

Part of The Londoner chain, the Chinese hotel says the suites, ‘reflect the best of the star’s discerning style and sophistication and feature the comforts he enjoys when travelling’.

David’s suites boast a decor inspired by his English background, with swish velvet furnishings, a marble dining table and personalised bedding.   

As well as a snap of himself, each room also features a portrait of his wife Victoria showcasing her photography skills, with guests also gaining access to an exclusive bar, as well as a restaurant serving an array of classic British dishes.

In a video released to promote the suites, David can be seen offering his expertise during the design process, insisting the bedrooms should be gold, before two of the designers come in with an array of ideas.
