During his appearance, Patrick told him: ‘We love that you’re bringing a bit of danger to Saturday night. I think Ant and Dec are going to be worried.’

He responded: ‘I think they’ve had a good run, but there’s a new geezer in town.’

The game show centres around pairs of contestants as balls quickly fall through The Wall, which works like a penny machine in an arcade.

They then land in slots at the bottom of the wall which represent different values of cash, which are then added to or subtracted from their scores.

The show initially had huge success stateside and Danny no doubt hopes that the same will happen over here.

After being given the news that he was the face of the new show, Danny said: ”I thought they were on drugs!

‘Really, you want me to do a game show, filmed in Poland? I was very confused by it all, to be honest. But I watched the American version and I thought you know what, let’s have a go…’

Ant and Dec have been awarded 18 Best Presenter gongs at the National TV Awards over the course of their long-running career.

The Sun previously revealed that the BBC were pinning their hopes on Danny for a successful show following a series of low-ratings misses.
