Dan Walker and his Strictly Come Dancing partner Nadiya Bychkova looked downcast as they were driven home separately following the show’s quarter final and pre-recorded results  on Saturday night.

The broadcaster, 44, displayed a glum expression as he was whisked away from Hertfordshire’s Elstree Studios in the back of a taxi after learning of his fate on the BBC show.

Meanwhile, ballroom professional Nadiya, 32, looked tearful as she occupied a separate taxi after being presented with a bouquet of flowers.

Emotional: Strictly Come Dancing star Nadiya Bychkova appeared to hold back tears as she left Elstree Studios on Saturday evening 

Donning a navy waterproof jacket, Dan completed his ensemble with a pair of black trousers and stared into the distance.

Nadiya cut a trendy figure in a tan coat, which she teamed up with a coordinating pair of knee-high boots and a black top.

Slinging an onyx leather handbag over her shoulder, she wore her blonde tresses in a sleek up-do and accessorised her look with a pair of gold hoop earrings.

Earlier on, Dan and Nadiya had taken to the floor performing a Tango to Santa Maria by Gotan Project. 

Despite recent criticism over him getting to the quarter final, Dan pulled off a stellar performance.

Motsi commenting that he was ‘getting closer and closer’ to the level of the other dancers, adding: ‘I am so proud of you.’

Craig said it was ‘my favourite of all the dances you’ve done on the programme’.

However, Anton had issues with the dance, telling fans he was going to be a ‘party pooper’ as he listed Dan’s hits and misses.

He informed the TV presenter that it was a dance of ‘two halves’. Dan and Nadiya scored 31 points in total.
