Dame Joan Collins exudes elegance as she celebrates her 89th birthday alongside husband Percy Gibson, 57, at the Chelsea Flower Show

She’s a Hollywood icon who  turned 89 on Monday.

And Dame Joan Collins celebrated the milestone by attending the RHS Chelsea Flower Show alongside her husband Percy Gibson, 57.

The couple, who tied the knot back in 2000, appeared in high spirits as they meandered through the lush gardens and even stopped to smell some roses.

The birthday girl looked stunning in a chic floral dress which she teamed with a stylish sun hat.

The empire waist was emblazoned with a gorgeous lily print which Dame Joan layered with a crisp cream blazer complete with stylish oversized sleeves. 

The former Dynasty actress added more even more glamour to her look with a pair of white gloves.

Slipping her feet into a pair of nude wedges the star carried the floral theme into her accessories as she sported a large rose broach on her lapel and diamond flower earrings. 

As Her chestnut locks cascaded to her shoulders,  Dame Joan opted for a glamours palette of make-up, adding a pop of colour to the look with a bright red lip. 

Husband Percy looked equally smart in a double breasted navy jacket with shining gold buttons and striking pocket square.

He also donned smart slate trousers along with a crisp white shirt and red tie for the star-studded event.  

His hair neatly parted the devoted husband wore black framed spectacles and carried a red umbrella in hand.

This comes after the Dame recently welcomed her fourth grandchild as her son Alexander ‘Sacha’ Newley announced the birth of his first daughter with his jazz singer wife, Sheela Raman.

The actress is currently grandmother to Miel Celeste Adam, 23, Weston Skeates, 19, and Ava Grace Newley, 17.

The former American soap star expressed how ‘lovely’ it is to become a grandma again and is already doting on the baby girl who is called Deia Shanaya.

Dame Joan told the Daily Mail: ‘It’s really lovely to become a grandma again, It’s all these grandchildren that keeps me so young.’ 

Distinguished painter Alexander – whose father is Joan’s second husband, the late actor and singer Anthony Newley – proposed to American-born writer and musician Sheela in 2019.

Known as Sacha to his pals, Alexander has a daughter, Ava, with his first wife, the U.S. jewellery designer Angela Tassoni, whom he divorced in 2012.

Joan has been married to her husband Percy for 20 years, after meeting at a book-signing event in San Francisco in 2000. She was first married to late film star Maxwell Reed in 1952.

The star then went on to marry British pop star Anthony in 1963, with whom she shares two children, Tara and Alexander, now 58 and 56.

The couple divorced after six years, and she went on to marry her third husband Ron Kass in 1972. The two welcomed daughter Katyana, 49, that same year.

The pair were divorced in 1983, and Collins went on to meet her fourth husband, Scandinavian singer Peter Holm, at a party. They wed in 1985 but split just two years later in 1987.
