Daisy May Cooper has apologised to fans for calling herself a ‘midget’ in a now-deleted weight loss post shared to Instagram on Sunday.
The actress, 34, initially took to the social media platform to display the results of her keto diet after welcoming her second child with husband Will Wetson in September last year.
However, the This Country star was met with backlash as she made the offensive comparison to describe her appearance, before admitting: ‘I should know better.’

The media personality continued to express her regret over the message as she wrote in a separate note, posted on Monday: ‘I’m extremely sorry. Thankyou so much to everyone who called me out on it. Love you all.’ (sic)
Award-winning writer Daisy originally uploaded before and after photos of herself standing by her bathroom mirror as she detailed her new health journey.
The TV star wrote in an accompanying caption: ‘Anyone else doing keto? My mate Sarah and my da suggested I give it a try and I’m shocked at how quickly weight is dropping off.

The Cirencester native was called out by a disabled single mother, who urged her social media followers to send Daisy a constructive criticism over the use of the term.
Cathy Kamara later thanked the mother-of-two for taking down her post, but also insisted she’d need to ‘address her mistake publicly in order to raise awareness’.

The social media star wrote: ‘She’s deleted her post but I can’t unsee the fact that it had already been up for 24 hours, amassed 82,000 likes (including two mutuals!?), and almost 2,500 comments, none of which called this out.
‘@daisymaycooper thank you for taking it down, next step would be to address your mistake publically in order to raise awareness among your large fan base that seemingly don’t find issue with this s**t.’ (sic)

Last autumn, Daisy gave birth to her second child, a baby boy named after her late co-star Michael Sleggs.
The Avenue 5 star, who also shares daughter Pip with her husband Will, welcomed her son on September 1 but remained in hospital for a ‘traumatic few days’ after suffering complications in labour.
