The costume designer posted a selfie with BFF Kim and seemingly trolled the show with a caption which read: ‘Friends in NYC [heart emoji] Celebrating life with @kimcattrall ! Tag your bestie in the comments below [women with bunny ears emoji]’

This is not the first wardrobe controversy which has come from the project as many were up in arms about Sarah Jessica Parker character Carrie Bradshaw wearing a patterned maxi dress that was believed to be from fast fashion brand Forever 21.

The dispute began at the end of July when Instagram fan account, And Just Like That Closet, found a photo of Carrie’s dress allegedly from a past season.

The outfit certainly earned mixed reactions, with some commenters complaining that the character wouldn’t wear it.

Au revoir: DailyMail.com previously exclusively reported that Field wasn’t returning to the reboot to focus on her work on Netflix’s Emily In Paris, as star Lily Collins is shown

‘So Carrie went from stylish and sexy to frumpy?’ one complained, while someone else wrote: ‘Forever21 really? On a 50-something. Patricia Field would never…’

‘No. Can’t you let us dream a bit? Forever 21 is a no,’ said another.

‘We all have loved living vicariously through Carrie because she would wear what many people couldn’t afford to wear on a daily basis. Especially as a freelance writer in the beginning of the show. We love the escape and the fashion is what I live and die for, so to speak. Not to speak for us all, but F21 is not what we want queen Carrie wearing. Please put her in that gorgeous and often quirky glam we so love,’ one woman chimed in.

Oh no! Some fans insisted Carrie would ‘never’ wear Forever 21, and are particularly upset about the franchise including a fast fashion brand

Many of the critics took issue with Carrie buying from a fast fashion brand, pointing out that the disposable, cheaply-made clothes are bad for workers and the environment.

‘Carrie in fast fashion?’ asked one fan, aghast, while another added: ‘Not Forever 21 Carrie! Please don’t be wearing fast fashion I bet you.’

‘Not Forver21 please! A bankrupt fast fashion brand that should really just disappear forever. SJP would never do that and so sad to see Carrie in it,’ said one more.

The brand confirmed it was one of their pieces last month as they shared images of Sarah on set with the caption: ‘@SarahJessicaParker as Carrie Bradshaw wearing our Avah Ruffle Strap Maxi Dress. #SJP shows off in her boho chic ensemble for the SATC revival “And Just Like That” [cityscape emoji]’

The dress is currently sold out but had originally retailed for the modest price of $145.

Meanwhile on set Sunday, Cynthia also donned black lace-up combat-style boots with a matching bag draped over her shoulder.

Over the weekend, the first footage from And Just Like That showed an intimate scene between Sarah’s character Carrie and longtime love interest Mr. Big who is played by Chris Noth.

Their tumultuous relationship played out for six seasons, which aired from 1998 to 2004, and two movies of the popular HBO franchise.

Despite a leaked script suggesting Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big are in the depths of marital woes, the first footage from the upcoming 10-part revival shows the couple looking blissfully happy as they share a sweet kiss.

The preview of the highly-anticipated reboot was a part of a ‘New on HBO Max’ teaser, which aired to audiences on Sunday evening during the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards.

While no words were exchanged in the recording, there relationship didn’t appeared to be strained in any way as he wrapped his arms around her.

In the scene, Parker wore a long beige maxi dress, a gold bracelet and her long blonde hair in loose waves, which cascaded past her shoulders.

As they embraced, Bradshaw (Parker) looked smitten as she opted to make dinner from scratch, rather than order from one of her go-to takeout joints.

The New York City columnist, who famously used her oven as extra storage for her Manolos for years, also reunited with her best friends Charlotte York (Kristin Davis) and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon).

Bradshaw appeared to be waving to someone across the room, while York smiled with a few garment bags in her hand.

It’s highly likely the group was meeting up with Lisa Todd Wexley, portrayed by Nicole Ari Parker, who has been billed to replace Kim Cattrall.

In July, leaked scripts revealed that Carrie wasn’t so sure about her role in her marriage to Big, according to Page Six.

In the scene, Carrie is dining out with a few of her best friends, including Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson), Hobbes (Nixon) and York (Davis).

Bradshaw, who’s now in her 50’s and hosts a podcast, seems to say she isn’t in a good place: ‘I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?’

Carrie and Big were married at the New York Public Library after plans failed for an elaborate luxury wedding in the first Sex and the City movie.

Here come the girls! The new show, entitled And Just Like That…, has been filming in New York City with three of the original four stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon (pictured in July)

Noth admitted he was ‘hesitant’ to reprise his Mr. Big role for the revival and felt as though he gave the character his all, but was swayed to come back after a little pep talk from producers.

‘It was a little bit of a sort of creative negotiation because I didn’t really feel I had anything to offer in that role again,’ he told Yahoo! Finance Live. ‘It kind of felt like I had done it.

‘But [executive producer] Michael Patrick King is just an incredible writer and has incredible creative ideas. And once we got together and talked about the potential of what we could do with the character, I was all in.’

Chris played the commitment-phobe financial adviser while SJP portrayed a best-selling novelist and columnist in the series which debuted in 1998.

In addition to Nicole Ari Parker, Karen Pittman and Sarita Choudhury are coming on to the show as newcomers.

SATC has long-sparked criticism due to the lack of diversity in its largely-white cast as well as shocking storylines, including Kim Cattrall’s character Samantha — who will not be returning for the reboot — dating a black man and fighting with his sister over her race.

The casting has been welcomed with open arms by fans, who praised the move on social media following show writer Michael Patrick King and lead lady and executive producer Sarah’s vow to create greater inclusivity.
