Coronation Street star Alan Halsall, 36, is undergoing hair transplant surgery again following his first procedure in 2016. The Tyrone Dobbs actor spoke out about his decision in a Q&A with fans earlier this year. Alan explained: “Since I had my first a few years ago I’ve spoken with so many men who have confidence issues because of their hair. “Maybe this will let some of them know they have options and people have it done all the time.”
He concluded: “It’s not something to be ashamed of.”
The soap star also told another fan why he was getting the second surgery.
He revealed: “I had one procedure at the front and now having one at the back.”
Alan received the hair loss treatment at the Farjo Hair Institute in Manchester.
The company shared a snap of the ITV favourite sitting in a hospital gown during the treatment in view of their 948 followers.
They captioned the photo: “Anyone recognise our recent hair transplant patient?”
“It was great to have @alanhalsall come back into @farjohairinstitute for his second hair transplant, after being thrilled with the results from his first procedure!”
Alan has been open with fans about his preference for the surgical procedure.
Back in February last year, the Rovers Return regular shared a before and after picture with his 283,000 Twitter followers to show the results of his recent treatment.
He tweeted: “Before and after in 1 pic @BessamFarjo,” alongside a close-up photo of his new look with an image of his formerly thinning hair in the background.
Elsewhere, the actor confirmed his relationship with his former Corrie co-star, Tisha Merry, 25.
The actress, who played Steph Britton for almost four years in the series, attended fellow Coronation Street star Sam Aston’s wedding to Briony Gardner with Alan.
The couple revealed their romance to fans on Instagram last month.
Alan posted a sweet snap of the pair beaming with glee at the nuptials, as Tisha wrapped her arms around her beau’s shoulders.
The star captioned the photo: “Congratulations Mr & Mrs Aston.
“What a wonderful day, we’re so proud to be part of it.”
Coronation Street airs tomorrow on ITV at 7.30pm.
