Common has signed an overall agreement with Lionsgate to produce TV projects for the company.
As per the deal, the Chicago artist will develop and produce new TV series via his Freedom Road Productions.
Common said he is proud to expand his relationship with Lionsgate. “The studio offers a collaborative, creative freedom that is unique in the entertainment industry, which makes them a perfect partner for Freedom Road Productions”, he said, adding that he is looking forward to teaming up with Kevin, Chris and the Lionsgate collective on “exciting and fresh television programming.”
Lionsgate Executive Vice President Chris Selak said the company is “thrilled to have the talented multi-hyphenate Common join our television.”
Common is known for acting in movies such as American Gangster, Barbershop 3 and John Wick 3: Parabellum, and also in the drama, Hell on Wheels.
