Cheryl returns to the stage! Pop star puts on a VERY animated display in sparkly pink cut-out leotard as she performs at Mighty Hoopla festival after lengthy music hiatus

She was an icon of the early noughties pop music scene but had a lengthy hiatus when she had her son Bear. 

And Cheryl finally returned to the stage to the give the fans what they have always wanted as she performed at the Mighty Hoopla festival in Brixton’s Brockwell Park on Saturday night. 

The former Girls Aloud siren, 38, showed she’s still got it as she put on an animated display while dancing around in a sparkly pink cut-out leotard for the event.

Cheryl showed off her lithe physique in the eye-catching stage outfit which featured nude cut out sections and dramatic sleeves as she belted out all her iconic hits.

She wore her brunette tresses in a half up half down do and opted for a very glamorous makeup look complete with sequins next to her eyes.

The beauty and mother-of-one looked like she was having a great time as she took to the stage putting on a confident display singing and dancing.

Mighty Hoopla organisers issued a statement ahead of Cheryl’s performance earlier this week that read: ‘We are thrilled that this year’s Hoopla will be closed by one of the millennium’s most iconic pop stars.

‘Having risen to fame in one of biggest girl groups of the 21st century, Cheryl has since gone on to release five number-one singles in the UK – the first British female solo artist to achieve this feat.

Earlier this week Cheryl was seen exiting the studios in blue sweats, having been heard singing her hit song Fight For This Love inside during a gruelling nine hour rehearsal. 

And on Tuesday, the Girls Aloud star posed with her backing dancers for a new snap as she finished rehearsals ahead of her performance. 

The singer beamed alongside her dance troupe at the studios in final preparations for her headline act.

It’s a busy time for The Greatest Dancer judge as she juggles the relaunch of her singing career with her new BBC Sounds titled You, Me & R&B.

The podcast will see the singer relive her teen years in Newcastle where she discovered her love of the music genre along with artists such as TLC and Beyoncé. 

‘I’ve always had an absolute love and passion for R&B and I’m so excited to share my new show with you on @BBCSounds,’ the pop star said of the show. 

Cheryl delighted fans by sharing a link to the show’s very first episode as she begins to make her comeback to the showbiz scene.
