Halloween is all about the costumes. Getting your friends together and coming up with a bomb AF group look is probably 90% of the fun. Let’s be real, there are tons of different costume ideas out there that are so creative! But, who says celebrities can’t join in on the fun, too? That’s right, there have been some years where our favorite stars have come up with pretty cool ideas for costumes. What’s better is that they get their friends involved as well. It’s clear that some famous folks live for this spooky holiday. So, if you want to see which besties came up with cool ‘stumes or if you are in need of ideas, here you go, fam:
Tina Fey and Will Ferrell
Remember that movie Megamind? Well, in 2010, the movie’s stars, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell, both dressed up as their characters for a taping of The Today Show. The former SNL cast members are definitely not afraid of costumes, and the Elf actor has never been shy about wearing over-the-top outfits.
JWoww and Snooki
Say what you will about Snooki and JWoww, but they have been friends since forever. It clearly shows, too. In 2013, the besties dressed up as the Queen of Hearts and the White Queen for Halloween. The results are awesome! We absolutely love how cute they look together.
Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock
Okay, so it may be hard to tell, but that is Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock under those yellow caps. The two stars of The Heat went as fishermen during a trick-or-treating trip with their families. We honestly would have loved to have been invited, but it’s whatever.
Rihanna, Melissa Forde and Friends
Rihanna always manages to leave us shook. Halloween 2014 was no different for the artist. She was joined by her BFF, Melissa Forde, and two other besties as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This is definitely a lewk. Only the “Umbrella” singer could rock green body paint and still be on fleek.
Kim Kardashian and Jonathan Cheban
We are totally in love with this super retro costume pulled off by Kim Kardashian and Jonathan Cheban. In 2017, the BFFs went as Sonny and Cher for Halloween. But, this isn’t the first time they rocked matching ‘stumes. They also dressed up as Poison Ivy and Robin in 2011. Personally, we are digging this look way better.
Michael Strahan and Kelly Ripa
We are taking you back to 2015 when the meme of the year was the left shark from Katy Perry‘s Super Bowl Halftime Show. Clearly, Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan wanted to be hip and dressed up as the meme. The two friends have also dressed up as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, along with other couples costumes in the past. What can we say? Pop culture costumes are always a hit!
Katy Perry and Shannon Woodward
Speaking of Katy Perry, she and BFF Shannon Woodward dressed up as Jane Lane and Daria in 2012. (The show Daria was a super popular cartoon in the late ’90s.) The duo pulled it off perfectly! We don’t know about you, but we are stealing this idea this year.
Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford
This costume is so smart. In 2013, Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford both showed up to The Today Show as Betty and Wilma of The Flintstones. If we weren’t already jealous of their friendship, this costume definitely did it for us!
Nina Dobrev, Amanda Macuga, Mary Miller, Kayla Ewell and Hillary Harley
Nina Dobrev and her besties definitely spiced up Halloween in this group costume. There is probably nothing more iconic than the Spice Girls and the Vampire Diaries actress clearly knows it! She dressed up with her former castmate, Kayla Ewell, and four other friends in 2015.
Nicole Richie, Carlos Lopez and Jamie Schneider
Hopefully the claws didn’t have to come out on the night of Kate Hudson‘s huge Halloween party! Nicole Richie, makeup artist Jamie Schneider and photographer Carlos Lopez went as famed act Siegfried and Roy (and their tiger) for Halloween in 2016. Roar.
Kelly Sawyer and Jessica Alba
We feel like we really missed out on Kate Hudson’s party in 2016. Jessica Alba and Kelly Sawyer attended the event as Patsy and Edina from the British television series Absolutely Fabulous. Although we have never seen the show, from pictures we can tell they pulled off the costume perfectly!
