Celebrities react to Mac Miller’s shock death after apparent overdose

Chance The rapper has led tributes to Mac Miller after the rapper was tragically found dead at his California home on Friday.

According to TMZ, the 26-year-old died after an apparent overdose.

"I dont know what to say Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever," No Problem star Chance wrote. "But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Great man.

"I loved him for real. Im completely broken. God bless him."

Post Malone tweeted: God f**king dammit. You were such an incredible person. You changed so many lives. Had so much love in your heart. You inspired me throughout highschool, and I wouldn’t be where I was today without you. Never a more kind and sincere and beautiful person. I f**king love you mac."

He added: "We’ll make that album one day bubba. Miss you so much."

Wiz Khalifa shared: "Praying for Mac’s family and that he rest easy pgh #412."

Singer Khalid wrote: "This hurts my heart man RIP bro MacMiller. I can’t believe this s**t man."

He followed it up with a picture of the pair and added: "Love you bro."

Trainer to the stars Harley Pasternak shared a picture of Mac working out at his gym and said he’d had a coffee with him just yesterday.

Actor Jaden Smith said: "Long Live Mac Miller, Rest In Peace We Love You."


Earlier, his family said in a statement: "Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26.

"He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers. Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time."

Mac, whose most recent album was just released on August 3, was due to go on tour next month.

The night before he died, the rapper posted a video of a record player with a song from one of his albums.

In his last post on Twitter, he told his nearly 9million followers: "I just wanna go on tour."

Mac signed a recording contract in early 2010 with Pittsburgh-based indie label Rostrum Records, and began working on his debut album Blue Slide Park.

It was released in November 2011 and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming the first independently-distributed album to top the charts since Tha Dogg Pound’s Dogg Food in 1995.

In May, he was arrested for driving under the influence and hit and run when he wrecked his car by crashing into a utility pole.

After the arrest, ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande tweeted him saying: "Pls take care of yourself".
