‘Now she’s taking some time to recover and look after herself and her family.’

This comes a week after she parted ways with her skating partner Hamish Gaman.

The American model, 48, apparently failed to turn up to rehearsals after Hamish broke his silence on the split and claimed ‘the truth will out’ on Friday.

A source previously told Daily Star Sunday: ‘She’s a strong woman, but when her kids are coming home from school upset because other kids are repeating lies about their mum, it’s hard not to let it affect you.’

Caprice allegedly went missing for a day and didn’t answer calls from bosses before quitting the skating show.

Hamish broke his silence following his split from Caprice earlier on Friday.

The British skater revealed he’s ‘not okay’ in his first Twitter post since he and Caprice ‘parted ways,’ but cryptically hinted that ‘the truth always comes out in the end.’

It came following reports that Caprice – who is now skating with Oscar Peter – was branded a ‘lazy diva’ and her behaviour sparked the split from Hamish, though it’s also been claimed that she threatened to quit due to his ‘gaslighting’ behaviour.

In the statement Hamish thanked his followers and fans for supporting him during the split, and particularly paid tribute to her longtime partner Amelia Humfress.

He wrote: ‘Hi Everyone. Thank you so much for your kind messages. I’ve been overwhelmed by your love and support – it’s brought me to tears at times.

‘Honestly, I’m not okay, but I’d like to thank Amelia, my pro family and ITV for doing all that they can to support me.

‘I’m comforted knowing the truth always comes out in the end, and I hope we can focus on the skating again now.’

Bizarre: There has been a sea of speculation about the truth behind Caprice and Hamish’s exit, with sources previously claiming she won’t speak out until she leaves Dancing on Ice

Shortly after his post, Caprice showcased a series of painful-looking bruises on Saturday as she threw herself into training with new partner Oscar Peter.

Caprice took to Instagram to showcase her injuries obtained during intense training with the Swiss skater as she attempted to move on from her bitter feud with Hamish.

Caprice upload a collage of four pictures which showed off the nasty bruises on her knees, buttocks and torso.

Captioning the images, she wrote: ‘War wounds from this weeks training #letsdothis@_oscarpeter and I have been working hard hope to impress the judges this week @dancingonice.’

It comes after Caprice appeared to take a thinly veiled swipe at her former skating partner on Tuesday by insisting her new partner Oscar Peter has been ‘the epitome of kindness’.

The model took to Instagram and shared a photo of her and Oscar embracing warmly on the ice after another day of rehearsals.

She wrote: ‘Great training session today with my skating partner @_oscarpeter he has been a pillar of strength and the epitome of kindness … #soblessed … and so unbelievably talented bring on Sunday.’

Caprice looked sensational in the snap where she donned a long-sleeved navy top with her platinum blonde locks styled into a ponytail with a matching headband.

Oscar was all smiles as he posed alongside Caprice wearing a navy, white and yellow varsity jacket.

The supermodel failed to address the reason behind Hamish being axed as her pro partner when she returned to the ice on Sunday, but found herself in the bottom two amid confusion from viewers at home.

It has been claimed that Caprice will divulge her side of the story once she has been booted from the show, as she is ‘keeping it professional’.

The pair were announced to have split at the start of Sunday’s show after allegedly refusing to work together, with Caprice branded a ‘lazy diva’ according to one report.

Sources close to Caprice told The Sun Online: ‘Something happened – Caprice can’t talk about it because she’s on the show but she will.

‘She desperately wants to get her side across and reveal what happened but until she’s off the show it’s business as usual. She’s keeping it professional.’

MailOnline has contacted Caprice’s representatives for comment.

Second time lucky: The businesswoman returned to the show on Sunday with her new partner Oscar

Caprice reportedly threatened to quit following the first live show after finding Hamish’s behaviour manipulative, telling bosses that he had allegedly ‘gaslighted’ her.

A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Caprice felt she was being pushed far too hard by Hamish in training and said she felt bullied.’

They added: ‘To hear she’s being mocked as a diva because she refused to work with him any longer has been really upsetting for Caprice and she’s not happy.’

However, an ITV spokesperson denied the claims and told MailOnline: ‘We have seen no evidence of the alleged bullying on Dancing on Ice and strongly refute any suggestion to the contrary.’

Ignored: The supermodel who is now skating with Oscar Peter, didn’t mention during her rehearsal video tape why she is no longer skating with pro Hamish

The businesswoman returned to the show on Sunday with Oscar. The pair were up against Radzi Chinyanganya and his partner Jessica Hatfield in last weeks skate off, but they managed to be saved by all four judges.

Earlier in the episode Caprice referenced her partner swap and simply said: ‘I missed last week because I’m no longer skating with Hamish.’

Caprice went on to say that her first live performance was ‘overwhelming’ and she was ‘nervous and excited’ for Sunday’s routine with her new partner.

No explanation: ‘I missed last week because I’m no longer skating with Hamish’, Caprice said during Sunday night’s live show

She added: ‘I’ve been out of the game for a week and I feel I’ve taken 10 steps back. I know I have a lot to prove, we’re as ready as we’re going to be.’

Following their performance, Caprice admitted it had been a ‘tough week’ but still avoided mentioning why she is no longer partnered with Hamish.

Caprice and Oscar received a total of 25 for their first performance together, 6 from Ashley, 6.5 from John, 6 from Jayne and 6.5 from Chris.

Chris advised to try and start skating using one foot rather than always being on two feet while on the ice.

He said: ‘I know it’s been tough because you’ve only been together a short time, but there needs to be more energy and rapport between the two.’

While Jayne offered her support and said: ‘Considering the time you’ve had to put the routine together, well done.’

Caprice and her partner danced to Glamorous by Fergie in the skate off while Radzi and Jess chose The Greatest by Sia for their ‘passionate’ routine.

The couple did just enough to see them through to next week as they were unanimously saved by the judging panel.

Ashley said: ‘Based on the content of the skate off, it was much harder than I thought it might be, the couple I’m going to save in Caprice and Oscar.’

While John said: ‘Both well done, I’m going to be straight forward, I’m going to save Caprice and Oscar.’

Sealing the deal, Chris said: ‘Both fighting for the position, one was passionate the other was technical, I’m saving Caprice and Oscar.’

Jayne noted that she would also have saved Caprice and Oscar, meaning Radzi was the third celebrity to be voted off.

The show got off to an awkward start on Sunday after fans claimed that they could hear booing from the audience when Caprice entered the rink.

One viewer wrote: ‘The crowd booing Caprice… talk about awkward. #DancingOnIce’, while another typed: ‘Caprice being booed is EXACTLY what she deserves. As does her going home tonight’.

‘Omg wait is Caprice getting booed by the audience this week? It’s what she deserves tbh lol’, a third chimed.

Another viewer added: ‘Let’s make this happen. NO VOTING FOR CAPRICE!! The judges will probably save her coz her skating isn’t terrible but if we place her there week after week they will have to get the hint. Might need to put another favorite in the bottom with her to force their hand.’

Caprice appeared to be sporting a swollen left eye as she left a training session alone on Thursday.

Earlier this month it was first announced that Hamish and Caprice had split, when they failed to perform in Dancing On Ice’s Musicals Special.

A spokesperson for Dancing On Ice said: ‘Unfortunately, Caprice and Hamish have parted ways.

‘As you saw in our opening number Hamish remains very much part of our professional team and we hope to have Caprice back on the ice next week.’

Caprice and Hamish made their debut performance during the first live show to Lewis Capaldi’s Someone You Loved, and ended up in second place on the leaderboard with a respectable 25.5 points out of 40.

The Celebrity Big Brother star also previously said she is ‘in it to win it,’ telling HELLO! last month: ‘I’m in it to win it. It’ll be tough but I have that go-for-it attitude.

‘Although I’ve pulled a tendon in my foot and my whole body is covered in hundreds of bruises, I have just accepted that I’m going to fall – and now I have the no-fear factor.

‘I love it so much that not only do I want to win but I also want to carry on skating. I’m highly competitive, a trait my two boys seem to have inherited from me. I want to win for them…’
