Britney Spears clarifies she’s not faster than Usain Bolt after claiming she beat 100m world record

Britney Spears sent the social media world into a spin when she told fans that she was getting back into running and was delighted when she ran 100 metres in just 5.97 seconds.

This would mean that 38 year old Britney is faster than Usain Bolt, who holds the record for running it in 9.58 seconds.

The Hit Me Baby One More Time singer shared a snap of a stopwatch on her Instagram and wrote: "Ran my first 5 !!!! Getting over your fear of pushing it in the beginning is key …. once I did that I hit 5 !!!!!

"Usually I run 6 or 7 …. my first try was 9 …. and now I did it whoop !!!!! 100 meter dash." [sic]

As fans pointed out that this time makes her faster than Olympian Usain, she deleted the post and later clarified that she was joking.

The star later shared a video of herself trying out different outfits as she isolates in her home amid the coronavirus pandemic and revealed that she was joking over her running comments.

The mother-of-two wrote on Instagram: “Okay I guess I’m bored …. in my home for two weeks of quarantine and I’m modeling dresses I never knew I had !!!!

"I tried to screen shot a picture but it didn’t work I realized I had my hair in a pony tail and no shoes anyhow I got this cute video !!!

"I was tired of being still so I got up to go dance in this orange dress ….. and do you know what I just learned today ??!?
