British Soap Awards 2019: Fans laugh as Danny unimpressed by Phillip

British Soap Awards 2019: Viewers in hysterics as Danny Dyer looks VERY unimpressed by host Phillip Schofield’s risqué jokes

He’s well known for his no nonsense attitude.

And viewers were in hysterics as Danny Dyer looked very unimpressed by host Phillip Schofield’s risqué jokes at the British Soap Awards on Saturday – before later losing out on the Best Actor gong.

This Morning presenter Phillip, 57,  began introducing the soap stars as he made the joke that Danny, 41, likes to ‘trim down south’.

Not amused: Viewers were in hysterics as Danny Dyer, 41, looked VERY unimpressed by host Phillip Schofield’s risqué jokes at the British Soap Awards on Saturday

He began: ‘Jack P Shepherd is here tonight from the Coronation Street salon Trim Up North.

‘We’ve also been joined by EastEnder’s Danny Dyer, who I’m told… I’m told Danny is a big fan of the trim down south.’

As the audience erupted into laughter, Phillip teased, ‘True Danny?’

However, the actor, who plays Mick Carter in EastEnders, appeared visibly unimpressed by the gag, leaving many amused fans to take to Twitter to poke fun at the awkward moment.

‘CRINGE, awkward!!!! what was that reaction from Danny Dyer about #SoapAwards2019,’ commented one.

Funny guy: This Morning presenter Phillip, 57, began introducing the soap stars’ as he made the joke that Danny likes to ‘trim down south’

While another added: ‘Don’t think Danny Dyer found @Schofe very funny on the @SoapAwards #SoapAwards#soapawards2019 the look of disgust on his face!! Priceless.’

And others even joked that Danny would much rather be watching the Champions League Final match between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

‘Danny Dyer looks pissed off…. Rather be watching the footie? Lol #dannydyer #danny #SoapAwards,’ said one.

Hilarious: Many amused fans took to Twitter to poke fun at the awkward moment between the hardman and the TV presenter

A second simply said: ‘Danny Dyer looks like he would rather be watching the footie #SoapAwards’

Danny Dyer was nominated for Best Actor at this year’s ceremony but lost out to Gregory Finnegan who plays James Nightingale in Hollyoaks.

However, longtime actor Danny is normally up for a laugh with his co-stars.

The Football Factory star was spotted chanelling his inner Victoria Beckham as he and his EastEnders co-stars transformed into Spice Girls during filming for the soap last month.

Danny ditched his signature hardman persona in favour of a more glamorous look in a black minidress.

The Carter family, who are known for their love for the Spice Girls, are set to watch the group perform at London’s Wembley Stadium after Mick wins tickets for the much-anticipated concert in scenes set to air later this year.

Catching the eye: Injecting a hint of his regular style with his head-turning appearance, the soap star teamed his square-necked frock with a pair of chunky brown boots
