The Starmus festival has announced that Brian Eno will be awarded the Stephen Hawking Medal for his contribution to the popularization of science.
The other winners of the 2019 Stephen Hawking Medal include Elon Musk, for his astounding accomplishments in space travel and for humanity, and Apollo 11, a documentary by Todd Douglas Miller, for its breakthrough look at history’s most famous space mission.
The medal ceremony will be held on June 24 at this year’s Starmus science and music festival in Zurich, Switzerland.
Celebrated scientist and educator Bill Nye will host the ceremony, and scheduled attendees include Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collins and six other Apollo mission astronauts.
The organizers said a highlight at this year’s medal ceremony will be a performance by musical giant Hans Zimmer of his original composition “Once Upon a Time on The Moon.”
