Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Fight for Children Custody to Continue in Court

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s bitter custody battle is about to get nastier. The exes, who share six children together, will reportedly take the still-unresolved issue to trial with the help of a retired private judge starting early next month.

According to TMZ, the “Moneyball” actor and the “Unbroken” director have filed legal documents asking an L.A. Superior Court Judge to give them until next June to hash out their bitter divorce. The custody trial is set to begin on December 4.

The former couple will ask a private judge to rule on the custody battle over their six children and their property settlement, as it was revealed that they had no prenup. Angelina reportedly wants sole physical custody of their 6 kids, but Brad wants 50/50 joint custody. The custody trial is expected to take place for around 2 or 3 weeks.

Brad and Angelina, who announced their split in September 2016 after four years of marriage and more than 10 years together, share Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

As reported before, a judge ruled in June that Angelina should let Brad spend more time with their children, or she would risk losing custody. However, the 43-year-old actress/director reportedly insisted that “the best scenario for the kids is for her to have sole custody.”

In August, they reached an interim custody arrangement after it was recommended by their custody evaluator. It was said that details of the agreement were the same with the custody agreement which was decided by a judge a few months before. “Nothing has changed since the judge made an interim custody agreement a few months ago in which he said Angelina must let Brad see the children,” a source close to the “World War Z” actor told PEOPLE at the time.
