Blake Shelton addresses Gwen Stefani marriage rumors, Adam Levine leaving ‘The Voice’

Hold your horses with all that marriage buzz. Blake Shelton told ET Online he and girlfriend Gwen Stefani plan on taking their relationship nice and slow.

The 43-year-old country star has been dating Stefani, 49, for almost four years, prompting fans to wonder when the pair will tie the knot.

Shelton told ET on Sunday he and Stefani are in no rush.

“First of all, the rumors stuff, I’m not gonna sit here and say that it makes me mad,” Shelton said. “It’s funny. I’ve learned over the years just to take that for what it is.”

Shelton said his bond with Stefani grows stronger every day.

“If I am somehow, and Gwen is somehow, newsworthy enough that they have to make up stories about us just to have something to say, then I guess that’s a good problem to have,” he said. “You know, I gotta say that we couldn’t be happier, and we’ve never been doing better.”

So can fans expect a possible proposal down the road? The only guarantee, Shelton said, is you won’t be reading about it in the tabloids.

“I promise you, we won’t break the news in any of the grocery store trash magazines,” he said.

Shelton also talked the upcoming season of “The Voice.” Shelton will trade his bromance for his romance, as Stefani will return as a coach in place of pal Adam Levine.

The Maroon 5 front-man has appeared on “The Voice” with Shelton since the show’s premiere more than eight years ago. Though he said he’ll miss his longtime “frenemy,” Shelton is looking forward to the upcoming season.

“For a guy like Adam… to have even done it as long as he did without wanting to move on to the next thing, is amazing,” Shelton said. “But I know he’s happy with his decision. Doesn’t mean I am, or any of us, but at least they were able to soften the blow a little bit and bring Gwen back, because without Adam I knew it was going to be hard for me.”
