Beyoncé’s ‘Renaissance’ Debuts Atop Billboard 200

Beyoncé‘s Renaissance has debuted atop the all-format Billboard 200 albums chart.

The album launches atop the chart with 332,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending August 4, according to Luminate. This marked the biggest week by a woman in 2022 and the second-largest week of the year overall.

Renaissance is part one of a three-part project that was recorded during the pandemic. The album, which is available via Beyoncé’s own Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records, is a follow-up to Bey’s 2016 globally acclaimed album Lemonade.

Renaissance is Beyoncé’s seventh solo No. 1 album. This is also the first album released by a woman in 2022 to top the Billboard 200 after Adele‘s 30 ruled the chart for six weeks on charts dated December 4, 2021-January 8, 2022.
