Beyonce was Photoshopped into the official Lion King cast picture, her costar John Oliver confirms
When the queen is busy, everyone else must find a way to make it work.
Late night talk show host John Oliver, who plays the chirpy king’s attendant Zazu in the new live action Disney blockbuster The Lion King, confirmed speculation that Beyonce, who stars alongside him as Nala, was not actually present for the cast’s official photo shoot.
When he recently appeared on The Late Show to discuss the film with late night contemporary Stephen Colbert, Oliver looked at the cast photo in question and said, ‘She wasn’t there. No she wasn’t there… I think almost everyone else was there.’

Beyonce is in the center of the picture in the back row, and speculation arose when the picture was released as to whether the singer was indeed present when the still was taken.
Oliver, who appears in the frame just to the right of queen Bey, recalled to Colbert his experience at the shoot.
‘Chiwetel [Ejiofor] was sitting in the front and he said, “You need to be careful where your foot is,”‘ the Last Week Tonight star said.
