"Real Housewives of New York" star Bethenny Frankel says that grieving the death of ex-boyfriend Dennis Shields has caused her to lose weight.
Frankel posted an Instagram photo Friday showing her wearing a floral dress with a miniature clear replica of Robert Indiana’s LOVE Sculpture (below). After seeing the pic, a fan pointed out that it looked like the reality star had thinned out a little.
"Love the dress. I would look heavier if I wore that. You’re looking extra thin in these photos," the user commented. "How/are you losing weight?"
"Death will do that to a person #griefdiet," Frankel replied. "I don’t recommend it."
Shields, Frankel’s boyfriend, was found dead at the age of 51 in his Trump Tower condo following a suspected overdose last month. The New York Police Department told TooFab at the time that emergency medical services arrived at Dennis’ Manhattan high-rise at 9:19 a.m. local time, where a man was found unconscious and unresponsive.
Frankel spoke out about his Shields’ devasting death on Twitter sixteen days after his passing.
"It’s hard to breathe & I appreciate you giving me the space & support to try to do so," she wrote on Twitter. "It’s excruciating-sudden death is no closure & constant ?s & memories. Our relationship is current so it’s painfully raw. Trying to stay healthy & move through it w tears & close friends. Xo."
