'Best friend.' Jodie Turner-Smith pays tribute to Joshua Jackson

‘Best friend. Husband. Girl dad.’ Jodie Turner-Smith pays touching tribute to Joshua Jackson before painting his toenails in hilarious holiday posts

They became first time parents in April last year when they welcomed their beloved daughter Janie Jackson.

And Jodie Turner-Smith couldn’t help but gush over her husband Joshua Jackson on Wednesday, sweetly penning: ‘Best friend. Husband. Girl dad,’ across a photo of his legs shared on Instagram.

In front of an idyllic tropical landscape, Joshua, 42 – who reclined on a sun lounger with his feet in the air – and Jodie, 34, were sporting matching green toenails.

Moments later, the Peterborough-born actress showed off their tropical surroundings in a breathtaking clip.

Standing on a balcony, the Queen & Slim actress panned her camera over the beach. As waves gently lapped at the sand, Jodie reminded her fans: ‘Gratitude is a must.’

The loved-up couple later strolled down to sit on the pristine beach, with Jodie sharing a snap of herself sprawled out in a green bikini.

Holding a purple fruit up to the camera and with sand visible behind her legs, she asked fans: ‘Who can name this fruit?’

Unclear: Despite sharing loved-up snaps, Jodie star didn’t specify where she and Joshua were holidaying (pictured in 2018)

The family’s getaway comes weeks after Jodie revealed she wept after her first child, now 11 months, was born because she felt a sense of ’emptiness’ in her womb.

Despite feeling emotional, she said that giving birth was a ‘beautiful’ experience that showed ‘the evidence of her biological powers’.

The Queen & Slim star told MATCHESFASHION in a new Q&A for their Curated By series: ‘I remember feeling my womb for the first time after I gave birth, feeling the emptiness, and I just wept.

‘Because it’s just as beautiful, as it is bizarre, as it is completely f****** normal and human. My body has more curves now, more folds, more softness, and all of that is the evidence of my biological powers.

‘I just kind of grow more in awe of that every day.’

Reflecting on the birthing experience, Jodie reaffirmed how going into labour made her realise how ‘powerful’ women are.

She said to ELLE earlier this year: ‘The men think they’re hard-core, but they could never do what they do while also making a baby. They just couldn’t.

‘[Giving birth reaffirmed to me that] patriarchal society really is out here, scamming women into thinking that they’re not supremely powerful beings, because damn, it’s some goddess-level s***.’

Last month, she revealed that she had had a plaster cast made of her heavily pregnant tummy.

Taking to Instagram, she shared the process with her social media followers, posting images of the plaster cast covering her bump and breasts.

She also posted a selfie she took with part of the cast as well as uploading a picture of the finished mould.

‘[Luckily] I’m not having to sit on Zoom with her and suddenly become her educator as well as her caretaker.’

She previously told Vogue that she had given birth to her child at her home in Los Angeles and spent nearly four days in labour.
