Below Deck Mediterranean's Hannah Ferrier speaks out after firing

Below Deck Mediterranean’s Hannah Ferrier speaks out after getting fired for having Valium on the vessel… as the pregnant star says she’s ‘being painted as some sort of drug addict’: ‘It was just disappointing’

She was accused of having drugs in her cabin on Below Deck Mediterranean, and subsequently fired on Monday’s episode.

And Hannah Ferrier broke her silence about her exit from the Bravo show, revealing she was disappointed in how she was portrayed.

The pregnant star said: ‘I think I’ve just been really disappointed because I feel I’m being painted as some sort of drug addict or what have you,’ she told Decider.

I did nothing wrong: Hannah Ferrier has taken to Twitter to defend herself after she was accused of having drugs in her cabin on Monday’s episode of Below Deck Mediterranean

In last week’s episode, she was confronted by Captain Sandy Yawn for having Valium and a weed pen in her cabin after bosun Malia White told on her.

Malia had even taken a photo of the items that she allegedly found in the star’s purse.

On Monday’s episode, the drama continued, with Captain Sandy firing Hannah from The Wellington crew.

According to maritime laws, crew members must check in medications with the captain, reports People.

Hannah said in her Decider interview that she ‘made the mistake of not clearing it’ with Captain Yawn, adding that it was ‘not something I was hiding’ and that it was something she’s always had every year.

She added: ‘It wasn’t like I went on and I was like, “Ooh, I have this Valium. I can’t let anyone see it.” To me, it’s just anti-anxiety medication.’

‘It just wasn’t really a process that went through my mind,’ because she’s had it every year. ‘That was my mistake. But yeah, it certainly wasn’t something I was trying to hide.’

Adding: ‘Obviously, I would have declared the medication when I went on board. If I knew it was going to turn out like this, I probably just wouldn’t have done the season.’

Earlier this year, Hannah had said that this season will be her last.

Crew: The 33-year-old reality TV star was confronted by Captain Sandy Yawn for having Valium and a weed pen in her cabin after bosun Malia White told on her

The 33-year-old, who is expecting her first child with Australian boyfriend Jay, told the outlet: ‘I think I’ve just been really disappointed because I feel I’m being painted as some sort of drug addict or what have you. Which is just so sad, because there are so many people in the world that suffer from mental illness.’

Adding: ‘And it’s 2020. We shouldn’t be making people feel like a lesser for taking medication for mental illness. Or making them feel like they can’t do a job, or they can’t do what normal people can do.’

Hannah said: ‘You can see on my face when she opens that bathroom door. My pants are undone. I’m going to the bathroom. I’m like, why would I flush my medication? It wouldn’t have crossed my mind to flush Valium, because I don’t think I’m doing anything wrong.’

She said: ‘It’s anti-anxiety medication. It’s like, it’s five milligrams of Valium! It was just disappointing.’

She called out Malia, 30, for using the term ‘narcotics’ when talking about it on WWHL, to which Hannah said to the outlet, ‘It’s not narcotics. It’s anti-anxiety medication.’

She also said the vape pen was CBD, which she also uses for anxiety.

‘When I travel, I check whether CBD is legal in the country that I’m going into. So yeah, I had checked that CBD was legal in Spain, and it is. Once again, I genuinely didn’t think that there was anything. I didn’t know I was doing something wrong.’

What happened? Captain Yawn asked Hannah what has been going on with the drugs in last week’s episode

Not happy: ‘So that’s prescribed Valium, CBD (which is legal in Spain), a lighter (not sure what this has to do with anything) and my passport holder… And for anyone who’s interested the prescription is on the other side of the box as shown,’ said Hannah on social media

The drama continued just after the show last week on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

White was on the late night show and said she had seen Ferrier take Valium in the past adding she had issues with anxiety.

‘I think in that moment when she asked for Valium is when it really hit me that those were the pills that she was taking every night all season,’ said White. ‘That’s when it became a real serious thing for me.’

Cohen asked if this was White’s way of getting back at Ferrier after they had an argument about the sleeping arrangements on the ship.

‘I already had my bunk at that point, so, yeah, it was because it was my duty to. I don’t want to lose my licensing,’ she maintained. ‘It’s not legal to take Valium on a yacht unsupervised, whether you have a prescription or not. Hannah knows that what she was doing was wrong. She knows that it’s against the rules.’

Clearing it all up: In another tweet, she said all of the items are fine to have, saying it was ‘ prescribed medication and legal CBD’

When Ferrier was live tweeting the show, she made it clear that White went into her cabin and looked through her handbag for the medication and CBD after they had a fight, making it sound like payback.

W riting: ‘So that’s prescribed Valium, CBD (which is legal in Spain), a lighter (not sure what this has to do with anything) and my passport holder… And for anyone who’s interested the prescription is on the other side of the box as shown.’

In another tweet, she said all of the items are fine to have, saying it was ‘prescribed medication and legal CBD.’

Ferrier announced in June that the fifth season of Below Deck Mediterranean will be her last.

‘I think I’m probably done,’ she told Entertainment Tonight. ‘I learned when I first started yachting in my very early 20s, you know, I would see these women who were in their late 30s, 40s, sitting at a bar, getting wasted with 20-year-olds living in a tiny cabin, and I was like, “I don’t want [that].”‘

Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays on Bravo at 9 pm ET.

Her romance with Josh went public a week before her pregnancy did, when she was seen discussing him on the season five premiere of Below Deck Mediterranean.

Hannah said on the episode that she met Josh in Australia and shared that ‘this is definitely the first relationship that I actually see some longevity and potentially getting married and making babies and having a family.’

She has also said in a Bravo Insider interview: ‘He’s very private, he hates social media, so, that’s definitely something that I respect. It’s probably for the best.’

Hannah added: ‘Like, I don’t think I could date someone that was fascinated with their Instagram and taking selfies and stuff. He’s just very low-key.’

Early days of pregnancy: In July she shared this image with the caption, ‘Cookin’ my stew and cookin’ my bubs PS This was a few months ago when I thought my bump was big and now my boyfriend has to put up with me grunting whenever I get up and down’
