Asia Argento has been fired from X Factor Italia.
The actress was announced as a judge on the reality competition back in May, which she called at the time a “bittersweet” return to Italian TV, where she said she was “slut-shamed for months” after her public #MeToo advocacy.
Now Sky Uno has dropped the controversial star from their lineup after sexual assault accusations have come out against her.
For those unaware, actor Jimmy Bennett, who starred in Asia’s movie The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things when he was seven years old, has claimed Asia sexually assaulted him after he turned 17.
Sky released a statement saying what The NY Times‘ reported about Asia was “completely incompatible with the ethical principles and values of Sky and therefore — in full agreement with FremantleMedia — we could only take note and cease the collaboration with Asia Argento.”
Asia had already filmed the early rounds of the show, as seen on her Instagram.
