Earlier in the week, the TV star admitted she was ‘really upset’ when she first discovered she was having a baby boy.

Ashley explained how she had got to a point in life where she ‘didn’t like men’, and discovering she was expecting a son triggered memories of her previous ‘heartbreaks’.

Ashley and her boyfriend Tom Andrews, 31, welcomed baby Alfie Rivers last month, and she opened up on her experience of gender disappointment on this week’s Made By Mammas podcast.

‘I couldn’t hide it’: In this week’s Made By Mammas podcast, the TV star admitted she was ‘really upset’ when she first discovered she was having a baby boy

Recalling the moment she found out Alfie’s sex, the TV star revealed she couldn’t hide her sadness as she found out the news while staying with Tom’s parents.

The influencer reflected: ‘We were excited about the whole process to be honest, but we decided to do the Harmony Test and he was adamant it would be a boy, and I was adamant it would be a girl.

‘When we got the call we were at his parents house and I couldn’t hide, I was really upset, to the point where him and his family were like ”this is awful, why are you upset, it’s great, he’s healthy.”’

The media personality went on to explain her reasoning behind her response as she added: ‘I think from being single so long and having my heart broken a lot…

‘Also there is this kind of like, sort of social media feminism where it’s really popular to be like ”men are trash”. I think I’d really got it in my head to the point where I didn’t really like men.’

‘It is very common to really want one or the other, and then be disappointed with the outcome.’

The presenter was single for six years until December 2019, and previously enjoyed brief flings with MIC co-star Ollie Locke, comedian David Walliams and musician Ginuwine.
