Arnold Schwarzenegger Gives Kudos to Joe Rogan After Vegan Documentary Debate

The new vegan documentary, The Game Changers, has been making waves. The documentary, starring UFC fighter James Wilks, former governor and bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger, among others, has been receiving rave reviews from some, and mixed criticism from others. It’s been a polarizing film, to say the least. The documentary posits that those eating plant-based diets can achieve the same levels of health as those who eat meat.

At first, Joe Rogan was incredibly critical of the documentary. However, his tune has changed somewhat in recent days, and Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to give Rogan credit where it’s due.

Joe Rogan originally hated ‘The Game Changers’

When Joe Rogan first dove into The Game Changers, it was on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. Rogan hosted Chris Kresser on the episode. Kresser is best known for crafting the paleo diet, sometimes referred to as the caveman diet, in which participants cut out carbs and focus on lean meats, fruits, and vegetables.

At first, Rogan and Kresser ripped the movie apart. Rogan has been critical of vegan diets in the past to a degree, so it may not come as a big surprise to some of his fans that this was the case. Kresser, meanwhile, believes that we should be eating in the same ways our ancestors did thousands of years ago, and therefore supports a mixed diet of meat and vegetables as opposed to a plant-based diet.

However, after tearing into the documentary for several hours, Joe Rogan decided it was only fair to allow James Wilks on to defend his work. And suffice it to say, Joe Rogan was impressed with what Wilks had to say.

Joe Rogan has a change of heart

Joe Rogan hosted Wilks, and according to Rogan, things went pretty well for the documentary star and UFC fighter. In fact, the debate changed Rogan’s mind about his previous podcast so much that he’s now considering taking the old video down.

Joe Rogan wrote on Instagram, “Vegans, you’re gonna LOVE this one! @lightningwilks, one of the producers of The Game Changers came on to challenge some of the criticism that Chris Kresser presented about the movie, and to say he did well would be a tremendous understatement. James knocked it out of the park, and defended himself and the film quite spectacularly. So much so that I’m actually considering taking the original breakdown of the film offline.”

Joe Rogan has his own opinions and usually stands ready to defend them, but he’s also typically willing to listen to opposition, especially if they come with facts in hand. Joe Rogan saying that he’s willing to remove the first video is an indication that he’s not just impressed by Wilks and his arguments, but that he may feel as if the first video contains some level of misinformation.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is proud of Joe Rogan

Arnold Schwarzenegger worked with James Wilks on The Game Changers, and it seems as if he’s impressed by Joe Rogan’s turnabout.

Schwarzenegger replied to Rogan’s Instagram post with, “Joe, I just want you to know I’m proud of you for always having an open mind and being willing to listen and change your mind about some things. It’s too rare and if more of our politicians could do that, we’d be much better off. Thank you.”

Other Instagram comments echoed what Rogan wrote. Emilien De Falco wrote, “Ouch..Felt like the impeachment trial of Chris Kresser… @lightningwilks sure came prepared… now that said, like he mentioned in the podcast, I would love a debate between two experts in the field. @biolayne vs some of the game changer team maybe?”
