Arnold Schwarzenegger SLAMS low turnout at LA National Cemetery for Veterans Day… as he revives Trump feud over packed campaign rallies
Arnold Schwarzenegger expressed dismay Wednesday at the turnout in Los Angeles National Cemetery where veterans and certain eligible family members are buried.
The 73-year-old former California Governor was ‘upset’ to see that on Veterans Day there were ‘only like 20 people walking around’ the graveyard, he said on Twitter.
He sharply contrasted the cemetery to Donald Trump’s packed campaign rallies and told viewers that ‘veterans are the ones that made America great. No one else!’

Before this video Arnold had tweeted a selfie clip at the military graveyard where he said ‘thank you to all those brave men and women at the front who make this the greatest country in the world and the freest country in the world.’
In the second video he said: ‘You know, I just came back from the Los Angeles National Cemetery, and – where I did the first message – and then when I came home I said to myself: “It doesn’t make any sense.”‘
He was ‘kind of upset’ as ‘in this cemetery where there were almost 100,000 people buried, veterans, there are only like 20 people walking around. Think about that. I mean, 20 people for almost 100,000 veterans that are buried there.’
Arnie continued: ‘But then the people go, 20,000 or so go to a political rally where someone promises them to make America great, but the fact of the matter is those veterans are the ones who made America great. No one else!’

He concluded: ‘So I hope that next year when I go back to that cemetery that I will see you 20,000 that are so patriotic. I hope I see you there. I think it’s a discussion that we should have, the definition of patriotism. Let’s talk about it.’
Thousands of people do typically go to Los Angeles National Cemetery for the annual event in May commemorating Memorial Day, which is distinct from Veterans Day in that it specifically honors fallen soldiers.
However this year’s event, the 131st, was held virtually with the public barred from attending on account of the coronavirus pandemic, ABC7 reported.
Trump did not appear at any rallies this year in Los Angeles, whose residents poured into the streets this past weekend to celebrate Joe Biden’s victory.

Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer warned revelers to ‘take seriously the fact that you may have been infected with COVID-19.’
According to Deadline she said: ‘Please quarantine for 14 days and stay away from anyone who’s at serious risk. I also encourage you to get tested for COVID-19.’
When he mentioned ‘20,000 or so’ Arnie may have been referring specifically to reports about a Trump rally held in Gastonia, North Carolina in late October.
About 20,000 people attended the event according to the Secret Service, although as WCNC noted COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the state were increasing.

Trump and Arnie have feuded for years, including when the latter took over as host of Celebrity Apprentice after his predecessor was elected U.S. President.
Arnold quit after a season, saying viewers and sponsors were wary of the show because of its associations to the polarizing head of state.
Trump mocked Arnold for the low ratings of his season – and then when the president’s own approval numbers took a drop the Expendables star clapped back on Twitter: ‘Oh, Donald, the ratings are in, and you got swamped.’
As a Republican Governor Of California Arnie opposed the ‘ludicrous’ idea of a wall along the Mexican border, comparing it to ‘the Stone Ages’ and the Berlin Wall.

He was born and raised in Austria when it was right on the edge of the Iron Curtain, bordering communist Hungary, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia.
Arnold used to be married to John F. Kennedy’s niece Maria Shriver who left him after it emerged he had fathered a son with their housekeeper Mildred Baena.
Meanwhile the president is currently on his third wife Melania, having infamously left his first wife Ivana for his second wife Marla Maples whom he also divorced.
Los Angeles National Cemetery has been in use since the 1889 and holds veterans of conflicts dating back to the Mexican-American War of the 1840s.
