Apparently, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s breakup didn’t come as a shock to either their family or their friends. In fact, everyone around the former couple is fairly relieved that the whirlwind relationship is over, sources told People.
“She threw herself into the relationship with Pete,” one source said. “She is young, but at least mature enough to realize this wasn’t the right relationship or the right time to get married.”
The two got engaged this spring after dating for about a month. They had both just gotten out of serious relationships at the time, hers with Mac Miller and his with Cazzie David.
“[Her loved ones] always thought the engagement to Pete happened way too quickly. They didn’t want her to get married to Pete. And Ariana never got to the wedding planning stage. It was all way too soon,” the source said.

A different source told TMZ this same basic thing—that they both seemed to know “marriage wasn’t in the cards.”
Since the split, Pete has moved out of the apartment they shared and has been joking that he’s looking for a roommate.
“Pete’s no longer at the house because why would he be? They broke up. He has no reason to go there,” another source said. “Everyone on both sides are relieved it’s over.”
For the time being, Ariana’s family hopes she takes time to cope with the death of Mac Miller while focusing on work and herself.
“Ariana has had several stressful situations in the past couple of years. She really isn’t in a position to make huge life decisions. Her family thinks she should just focus on work and not stress about other stuff,” a source said.
Sounds like a solid plan!
