Aretha Franklin’s attorney wants estate to pay overdue bills

The late Aretha Franklin’s attorney, Gregory Reed, wants her estate to pay up on overdue bills.

Reed, who claims to have represented the star for a number of years, says he’s owed roughly $54,000 in overdue bills going as far back as 2012, according to TMZ.

The attorney filed legal docs asking Franklin’s estate to fork over a check.

He also claims he worked closely with Franklin, including on her final Atlantic Records contract.

Reed added Franklin last paid him $10,000 in August 2012.

Franklin died in August. She was 76.

A request for comment from Franklin’s team wasn’t immediately returned.
