‘Kings of the castle or a pair of dirty rascals?’ Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly pose outside Gwrych Castle ahead of I’m A Celebrity’s return

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly shared a snap from Gwrych Castle in North Wales ahead of I’m A Celebrity’s launch on Sunday.

The Geordie duo, 44 and 45, posed outside the National Heritage site on Tuesday which had been lit up at night to show off the castle exterior.

They both wore face masks for the Instagram post amid the coronavirus crisis, despite being in a professional bubble together.

Ant was seen wearing a black rain coat over an open-collared shirt for the outing, while Dec donned a puffy down vest over his blue long-sleeved top.

It was unclear whether the pair were just visiting the castle in preparation for the show or if they were busy filming outside the eerie-looking venue.

However, the pair gushed in the caption: ‘We’re heeerrrreee! Kings of the castle or a pair of dirty rascals?’

Just as terrifying: Earlier in the day, the presenting duo promised that the trials will be as ‘horrific’ as ever and teased that the set is a lot more Game Of Thrones for the castle setting

‘Don’t worry they’re not easing back on the trials – they’ll still be as horrific as they normally are!’ Ant promised in a chat ahead of Sunday’s launch show, with Dec adding: ‘Some of the spiders here are bigger than ones in Australia – that’s all I’m saying!’

The show has been relocated from the jungle Down Under to Gwrych Castle in Northern Wales due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Done deal: ‘Don’t worry they’re not easing back on the trials – they’ll still be as horrific as they normally are!’ Ant promised in a chat ahead of Sunday’s launch show

‘We’re feeling incredibly excited. We’re very curious to see how the celebs get on in a cold environment rather than a hot one,’ Dec said. ‘We talked about what we would do if we couldn’t make it to Australia, and discussed doing it in the UK in a castle.

‘Then we got really excited about the prospect of it, and now it’s here we can’t wait to get up there and get started.’

Of the revamped studio – which usually is set in a jungle-top treehouse – the pair teased: ‘It’s the castle version of what we normally have. It’s a bit more Game Of Thrones than tree house!’
