Amy Hart sparks concern as cervical biopsy results show ‘high grade cells’

Amy Hart has issued a health update after undergoing a cervical biopsy in Worthing Hospital this week.

The 29 year old, who recently confessed she "ruined" the sweet moment her boyfriend was about to say "I love you" for the first time, took to her Instagram to document her time at the medical centre, where she underwent a colposcopy.

Former Love Islander Amy had previously been in to get a smear test in April 2021 and had discovered that she is HPV positive, which means while she does not have cervical cancer – it could be a warning sign for it.

She then went in for a second smear test in May this year and found it was still there, which meant she had to go in for the cervical biopsy, otherwise known as a colposcopy, where she was told she has "high grade cells".

In an explainer video, Amy shared: "I had a jab for it [HPV] when I was in year 11 in school, but it only does so many strains. And I've obviously caught the one I didn't get vaccinated against!"

Amy then insisted that she doesn't feel ashamed that she caught it before then opening up on the colposcopy following the procedure.

She said: "Before I went in, they told me they'd only take biopsies if they really, really had to. Surprise, surprise, they really, really had to take the biopsies and they said on the pictures that the cells do look quite high grade so [they'll] probably have to take them out and send them off for testing and I'll have to go back.

"So yeah, not great news but I'm really glad that I had all my smears on time. So if you're watching this thinking, 'Oh, I'm not sure.' Please, please go and book it.

"It's Cervical Cancer Awareness Week this week, please go book it so they can catch things early."

Amy, who recently got scammed out of £5,000 by fraudsters, added in the caption: "SMEAR/HPV Update! I thought as it’s Cervical Cancer Awareness week I’d add this to the grid too so it lasts longer.

"My main message is don’t put your smear test off, it could save your life! [because this is reshared from another app it won’t get the reach it needs so please like comment and share] #cervicalcancer #cervicalcancerawarenessweek @joscervicalcancertrust," followed by a heart eyes emoji.

Fans were quick to share their support as one person wrote: "Such an important message [red heart emoji] got mine booked for tomorrow," with a celebration hands emoji.
