In the midst of ongoing legal battles stemming from her Johnny Depp divorce, Amber Heard has suffered an unimaginable loss. On Sunday, the Aquaman actress took to Instagram and revealed her mother Paige Heard has sadly passed away.
The 34-year-old shared two throwback photos of her with her mom, describing her as a “beautiful, gentle soul” in the emotional tribute post, which began:
“I am heartbroken and devastated beyond belief at the loss of my mom, Paige Heard. She left us too early, clasping onto the memory of her beautiful, gentle soul. She will be missed from the very depths of our hearts forever. Her unflinching, open heart made her the most beautiful woman I had ever known.”
Amber did not reveal the matriarch’s cause of death, but she did go on to thank friends and fans for the support her family has received during this time:
“It’s hard to imagine and even more difficult to say but I feel truly lucky to have been her daughter and been given the gift of having the light she shone on everyone, fall on me for nearly 34 years. This has been an unbelievably painful time but in that, I am reminded of what survives us all, love. The kindness, support and generosity my sister Whit and I have received from friends and family has been utterly soul-saving.”
How incredibly sad… Not to mention, this tragedy comes just one week before Mother’s Day.
Cara Delevingne and Andie MacDowell were among those who rushed to offer their condolences. While the 27-year-old model left a heart emoji, the latter 62-year-old actress included:
“I’m so sorry for your loss dear one ?”
Amber seemed really close to her mom and dedicated this IG selfie to her in honor of International Women’s Day back in March:
Amber’s sister Whitney followed suit with her own heartbreaking post, complete with an old photo of Paige and more recent shots of the sisters and their mom together. She wrote:
“There are very few pains sharper than losing your momma…beyond heartbroken to say that I’ve lost mine. Words can’t express the amount of gratitude I will forever feel to have had her in my world and for being my first and my most true example of kindness and love…There have been so many people in our world that have pulled out all the stops to show up for Amber and I, and I will spend the rest of my days trying to make up for it, but for now, just know how thankful we are.”
She concluded by encouraging followers to cherish every moment with their loved ones:
“For those of you who are able to, call your mom. Tell her you love her. Thank her for everything. And apologize for all the bulls**t you put her thru. But most importantly, tell her you love her.”
