A-Rod working overtime to win back J.Lo, plus more celeb love news

Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in April 2021, starting with this A-list duo… According to multiple media outlets, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez dined together in Los Angeles on April 23 — more than a week after they released a joint statement announcing that they’d ended the romantic aspect of their relationship in the wake of a cheating scandal. “There still seemed to be love and respect there,” said a Page Six source, though an “Entertainment Tonight” spy claimed “the dinner did not appear to be a romantic situation.” An E! News source, meanwhile, alleged that the former professional baseball player traveled to L.A. specifically to see the singer-actress: “He doesn’t want to give up on their relationship and is willing to do whatever he has to do. He spent two nights with her trying to work things out,” said the source. “He keeps trying to show her how serious he is and how much he loves her. But she still feels that their issues can’t be resolved and that they should move on. He headed back to Miami alone on Saturday morning. He doesn’t want to give up, but she is adamant about moving on.” Echoed an Us Weekly source, “A-Rod will not give up on his and J.Lo’s relationship. He is willing to do anything to make it work. … [She] still doesn’t trust [him] all the way. She’s very skeptical, but she heard him out because she still has a lot of love for him.” The insider added that she’s “not convinced” to take him back yet, but he’s “determined to win her back.” According to a second Us Weekly source, Jennifer “was always aware of the rumors” Alex was cheating or “messaging other girls,” which “played a part in why the engagement ended.” Added the insider, “She wants someone who’s fully invested in her and someone she can trust when her partner is not around.”

In the wake of the news, multiple media outlets reported that the former professional football player cheated again. The “One Tree Hill” alum confirmed the infidelity reports in her divorce filing: In legal documents, she cites “inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences and adultery” as the reasons for their split.

On April 16, Kim Kardashian and Maluma sparked romance rumors when they posed together at a party celebrating the grand opening of The Goodtime Hotel in Miami. But according to a Page Six source, they’re “just friends” —he’s “happily single” and she’s not ready to start dating again so soon after her recent split from Kanye West, though that hasn’t stopped a myriad of worthy suitors from attempting to “shoot their shot” with her.

On April 24, Page Six reported that Paulina Porizkova and Aaron Sorkin quietly started dating a few months ago. The following day, the supermodel and the Oscar-winning filmmaker confirmed the news by posing together on the red carpet at the 2021 Academy Awards. They weren’t the only pair who made their big red carpet debut during the Oscars… Halle Berry and her boyfriend of less than a year, Van Hunt, made their red carpet debut at the 2021 Academy Awards. Riz Ahmed and his new wife, New York Times bestselling author Fatima Farheen Mirza, also made their red carpet debut at the 2021 Academy Awards. (Taika is directing “Thor: Love and Thunder,” in which Chris stars and Matt is set to appear in a small role.) Two days later, Rita took to Instagram to share a slideshow of photos including a shot of herself hanging out with another “Thor” star, Tessa Thompson, and a snap of herself embracing a man who appeared to be Taika. Then on April 25, an anonymous source told Deux Moi that Rita and Taika were “all over each other” and “legit making out the entire night” during a recent night out at a bar in Sydney.

Paris Jackson and Cara Delevingne sparked a fresh round of rumors about the nature of their relationship with their flirty behavior on April 25. The two women, who’ve been linked off and on since 2017, showed off their new matching tattoos (red roses on their forearms) on their Instagram Stories before attending an Academy Awards afterparty together. Paris also shared an image of a painting of herself and Cara embracing in their party duds.

In early April, it became clear that “The Bachelor” alum Matt James and his ex-girlfriend, Rachael Kirkconnell, were spending time together in New York City. As sightings of them together became more frequent, there were conflicting reports about where they stood: Some media outlets reported they were an item (and had been ever since they appeared on the “After the Final Rose” special in March) and were planning a future together, while others reported they were just friends and that Matt wasn’t interested in rekindling the romantic aspect of their relationship. But then a major bombshell dropped: Multiple media outlets reported that after Rachael flew to NYC to visit Matt, she learned he was also getting close to another woman — someone from his past whom he ghosted when he left to star on “The Bachelor” … after first attempting to convince her to join him on the show. The two women reportedly connected, shared notes and mutually “dropped him.” Meanwhile, Matt-friendly sources claimed there was simply “a big miscommunication” between him and Rachael because he allegedly told her a romantic relationship wasn’t in the cards. On April 19, a source told Us Weekly that Matt and Rachael were “on non-speaking terms” and that as far as she was concerned, what they had was “in the past now.” And yet, just a few days later, they were seen spending time together in Southern California. Said an E! News source of the latest round of hangouts, “They aren’t back together, but [they] definitely still have feelings [for each other]. They are having a good time right now and everything feels back to normal between them.”

In other Bachelor Nation news… During an appearance on the April 15 episode of the “Hollywood Raw” podcast, Dale Moss said that he and Clare Crawley are currently “in a good place” and “focused on one another” — though he declined to comment on whether or not they’re engaged again after briefly splitting earlier this year amid reports he was unfaithful. (He also claimed that the cheating rumors were “never even a topic of conversation” when he and the hairstylist put their relationship on hold.) Despite what Dale said about not confirming their relationship status publicly, Clare made a point of flashing her engagement ring on her Instagram Story on April 26, indicating the engagement is back on.

On April 6, multiple media outlets reported that Larsa Pippen’s controversial romance with Malik Beasley had come to an end. According to a Page Six source, the duo spent Valentine’s Day together and are “still in communication,” though they’re no longer a couple. He was going through a lot and the timing wasn’t right. … Many people assumed [their relationship] was serious when in fact it was not.”

On April 1, Deux Moi reported that, according to an anonymous source, Luann de Lesseps’ boyfriend, Garth Wakeford, was cheating with a college-aged woman. The following day, however, the “Real Housewives of New York City” star told Page Six that she and the personal trainer actually “stopped dating before the holidays.” As for the alleged side chick, Garth told the New York Post’s gossip column they “have no relationship” and only follow each other on Instagram because she attended one of his exercise classes. Also on April 2, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Luann has already “moved on” from Garth and is “completely smitten” with a man she met while vacationing in Tulum, Mexico, earlier this year.

In still more “Housewives” news… In early April, Deux Moi shared a report from an anonymous source alleging that Vicki Gunvalson “is not engaged anymore” and “is dating a 23-year-old dude” in the wake of her split from her fiancé, Steve Lodge. When the former “The Real Housewives of Orange County” star caught wind of the rumor on Instagram, she quickly shot it down. But it wasn’t the first time she and Steve have faced breakup rumors since they put their wedding plans on hold amid the coronavirus pandemic.

In even more “Housewives” news… In her new book, “Caviar Dreams, Tuna Fish Budget: How to Survive in Business and Life,” which debuted on April 13, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Margaret Josephs reveals she had an affair with Foreigner frontman Kelly Hansen during her first marriage to Jan Josephs, which spanned from 1994 to 2013. (It’s unclear when exactly the affair took place.) The “RHONJ” star told Us Weekly her ex-husband, who’s 20 years her senior, “has not read the book” yet and will find out about the affair for the first time when he eventually does. “It happened so long ago. … He’s not going to care,” she said.

Earlier in the month, an anonymous source told Deux Moi that the blonde beauty and “Southern Charm” co-star Whitney Sudler-Smith were seen kissing “at a very popular bar in Charleston” the previous week, but Madison told Page Six on April 15 that she and Whitney are just “old friends.”

In other “Southern Charm” news… On the April 20 episode of Dear Media’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, “Summer House” star Paige DeSorbo said that she and “Southern Charm” star Craig Conover “are a thousand percent not dating.” Earlier in the month, an anonymous source told Deux Moi that the pair were spied “holding hands” at a club in Charleston, but Paige insisted that she and Craig are just friends and that they were part of a big group during their headline-making Charleston outing. She went on to imply that Craig and his most recent girlfriend, Natalie Hegnauer, are still an item and that he would never cheat. (There’s been buzz that Craig and Natalie called it quits, though he said on April 1 they were still together.) Paige also admitted, however, that she’s “had a crush on him for years” and thinks he’s “the cutest.” Meanwhile… Paige and Craig were joined in Charleston by his “Southern Charm” co-star Austen Kroll and her “Summer House” co-star Ciara Miller … who’ve also been the subject of recent romance rumors on Deux Moi. But Ciara told “Entertainment Tonight” early in the month that they’re “not dating” and that she thought the rumors about them were “funny.”

On April 16, Danica Patrick revealed on Instagram that there’s a new man in her life: Freshly co-founder Carter Comstock.  “Bachelor in Paradise” co-stars Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk tied the knot in front of 20 guests at The Olana in Dallas on April 16. The duo, who got engaged in mid-2019, postponed their wedding date multiple times amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Dove Cameron’s “LazyBaby” music video, which dropped on April 1, ends with the singer-actress passionately kissing singer-songwriter Alexander 23. The PDA sparked rumors the pair are an item — which they’ve yet to address. Over the next few days, the “Descendants” franchise star said in multiple interviews that her late-2020 split from longtime love Thomas Doherty partially inspired the new track. “I went through a really bad breakup that was completely out of nowhere. [It was] so hard for my brain to even reconcile,” she admitted at one point.
