1Oak pop-up in Ritz-Carlton was too successful for its own good

Was 1Oak booted from the Ritz-Carlton in Montreal over the Formula 1 weekend, or was it just such a roaring success that it had to move to a bigger venue?

A speedy source told us that there was a scene outside the New York club’s pop-up at the swanky hotel on Friday night as people were “flipping out” because the club couldn’t find tables for them.

“The next day all 1Oak signs and advertisements were removed from the whole hotel,” said the source, who thought the Ritz had closed the club down over the debacle.

Oak-contraire, says the club.

A 1Oak rep told us that the pop-up was so successful that it had to find a larger space: “1Oak’s Montreal Grand Prix event at the Ritz-Carlton was met with such overwhelming demand on Friday that we quickly relocated our Saturday and Sunday parties to Soubois to service all guests, ensuring our one-of-a-kind experience was guaranteed.”

The rep added, “On Sunday night, Lewis Hamilton celebrated his win in Montreal with pal DJ Ruckus at 1Oak.”

Ritz-Carlton didn’t get back to us.
