If you’re a dog-lover, you might already know that National Dog Day is Aug. 26. And if you’re also a nail-art fan, you might want to consider getting dog nail art to celebrate.
Dog nail art is usually pretty intricate, so unless you’re a practiced at-home nail artist, you should probably go to a pro. This is especially true if you’re looking for a portrait of your pup — and know that not all manicurists do this type of work. “You have to go to someone who is very detail oriented,” celebrity manicurist Sunshine says. Since the work is so meticulous, she suggests considering doing the dog art on just one or two nails. And be sure to allow some time in your schedule. “It can take anywhere from two to four hours for that work to be done correctly,” Sunshine says.
