A NEW holiday park could soon open on a former oil depot in Scotland.
Ardrossan Eco Village Park has submitted plans for a brand new resort on the former Montfode Oil Storage Depot.
Across the 27-acre site would be 228 static caravans for holidaymakers to stay overnight.
Each multicoloured caravan would be around 12m, with two bedrooms, lounging area and bathroom as well as a terrace.
A 2,100msq clubhouse would also include a restaurant. bar and lounge area, along with a hair and beauty salon.
And activities would include bowling, soft play and pony trekking, as well as a huge swimming pool.

Outside would feature a bowling green and miniature golf, while the nearby road would be upgraded.
The application states: "[The holiday homes] will be further furnished by the creation of a central hub for residents, including leisure amenities, opportunities for indoor and outdoor recreation, sport, bar and restaurant facilities.
“A network of footpaths within the site will provide and encourage pedestrian connectivity.
“The development has been designed to prioritise an open and attractive green environment and landscaped setting for residing to avoid over development and cramming.”

4No official opening date has been revealed, with the new planning proposal still yet to be given the go ahead.
Original plans put forward last year were rejected, with a new application now put forward
Not only is there lots to do on-site, but it is near the coastal town of Ardrossan.
Many head to the town for its sandy beaches – North Bay and South Bay with views over the Firth of Clyde.
With just 11,000 residents, most people head to the 12th-century Ardrossan Castle, or the Ardrossan Harbour which has a direct train line.
If you fancy staying nearby there are hotels from £70 a night including The Lauriston Hotel and the South beach Apartments.
Ardrossan is around 30 miles from Glasgow, around an hour's drive.
Tourists can get the ferry to the Isle of Arran, which has been compared to Cornwall in the 1970s.
Rare red deer and dolphins can be spotted on the island too.
Sun Travel writer John Sturgis said: "There are only three roads on the island — one that goes right around it and two that bisect it.
"And in the course of our week there I encountered golden eagles, porpoises, hares, red squirrels, red deer, seals, snakes and more."
