Brits have been left in rapturous laughter after a council announced that it was trimming on Minge Lane.

The touching-up was announced by Worcestershire Council on Friday, September 29, as the midlands county looked forward to the weekend. The intention of the message, the council says, was purely "factual" however, the interpretation was a little different.

"Tree maintenance works today at Minge Lane, Upton-upon-Severn,” the County Council posted on the social media platform currently known as X via its Worcs County Council Highways & Travel account.

The funny road is located on the south end of Upton-upon-Severn on the south bank of the River Severn, not far from the major cities of Worcester and Gloucester and the town of Cheltenham. As expected, people were quick to have a laugh.

The comments section was a familiar sight, riddled with silly jokes. Some of them were admittedly rather rude.

One said: "Never mind the trees have you seen the state of the bush!"

Another added: "I hope they don't fanny around."

And a third posted: Taking care of pubic spaces. Good to see."

An amble down Minge Lane will allow you to take in sights of red brick homes, as well as white-painted 20th-century abodes in a quiet and quintessentially English setting. A fourth Echoed: "Get the chainsaw on the bushes whilst you’re there!"

"Your social media person must have thought all their Christmases had come at once," another chimed in.

As of October 3, it appears the post has been left up Worcestershire County Council. The Daily Star as since spoken to Worcestershire County Council, who explained that the post was shared "as a piece of factual messaging".
