Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are now proud parents of two. While Rihanna’s show-stopping maternity looks and epic pregnancy announcements were very public (and for good reason!), the couple tends to keep their family life pretty private. Here’s everything we know about their kiddos so far.
RZA
The couple welcomed their firstborn in May 2022.
On his first birthday, they confirmed that his name is RZA. He is named after the famous Wu-Tang rapper of the same name, and his middle and last name — Athelston Mayers — are the same as A$AP Rocky’s.
Rapper RZA shared the Islamic meaning behind his name back in 2015.
“In the Divine Alphabet, Z stands for Zig-Zag-Zig, which means Knowledge, Wisdom, and Understanding,” he wrote. “It’s the last letter of the alphabet and represents the final step of consciousness. So finally I just thought of the name as letters, as a title, not just a word. R-Z-A. It stands for Ruler-Knowledge/Wisdom/Understanding-Allah.”

Riot
Their second child, Riot Rose, was reportedly born on Aug. 1. There are mixed reports surrounding the baby’s birth.
The first photos of Riot were revealed on Sept. 19. The family photoshoot had fans in a tizzy, wondering if the baby’s pink outfit coupled with the middle name “Rose” meant Riot is actually a girl. Just a reminder for the people in the back: Despite what gender norms would like you to believe, any sex can wear any color!
That said, the first reports of Rihanna giving birth claimed that the “Diamonds” singer had a “beautiful” daughter, so we can’t really blame fans for speculating. “She’s a perfect spitting image of Rihanna – even down to the light eyes,” a source told Media Takeout.
Baby No. 2’s name keeps with the family’s tradition of “R” names. Riot may be connected to A$AP Rocky’s recent song, “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n).”
Rihanna’s pregnancy with Riot was much different from RZA’s. She said she had no cravings and tons of nausea.
The “Umbrella” singer announced her second during her Super Bowl halftime performance. No. Big. Deal.
