A PLACE in the Sun's Ben Hillman has revealed how properties are chosen – and you never see it on screen.
The Channel 4 presenter is a regular face on the beloved house-hunting show.
Ben joined the series back in 2016 and quickly became a fan-favourite.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, the property designer revealed exactly how the houses viewers seen on screen are chosen.
He told: "We've got our production team on the ground ahead of me arriving who have looked at so many properties, and they would whittle them down, then I look through those properties with them and we would see whether that is the right line up.
"And sometimes as well we’ve got other options like in the wings just in case the direction takes a bit of a turn which is unexpected.

Ben explained: "It has happened. And we’ve completely changed tactic and we pulled one of our reserves out of the bag and really turned things around."
A Place in the Sun was forced to make filming changes earlier this summer over wildfires in Europe.

Our source said: "Producers have altered the filming schedule to shoot scenes early in the morning and later at night to avoid as much discomfort to participants and talent.
"They've also tried as much as possible to film the majority of the new episodes indoors or in the shade.
"Bosses are also enforcing more breaks than usual and shooting as much content as possible in one take."
A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 4pm on Channel 4.
