Members of the force carried out an investigation to see if any offences had taken place and have since posed for a photo with the pooch.
Dressed up to the nines with a smart, light-blue shirt, the dog appeared to have a red lead also as it posed in the side of a police van with an attending officer.
The force updates on X showed off the smart-looking pooch, who stared directly into the camera as an officer stuck his thumb up from inside a police van.
BTP Black Country tweeted: "Our officers received a text report regarding a female who was intoxicated and not adequately caring for her dog.
"Officers attended and ensured the welfare of the dog whilst further enquiries are ongoing to establish any offences."

A social media user later questioned whether the choice of clothing the dog was adorned in was what they found the animal in or if they had dressed it up following the callout.
They asked: "Did you dress the dog up just for the photo?"
The officers replied: "Can confirm the fashion crime was not our doing!"
Other dog news heralded the sad news that Balthazar, Britain's "biggest dog", had died, with the Daily Star reporting the death of the humongous Great Dane which shot to fame on Judge Rinder's show of the same name.
