Jade Goody’s widow says she would be ‘bursting with pride’ at son Bobby Brazier being on Strictly and claims late star would have ‘won’ the show if she’d had the chance to appear
Jade Goody’s widow has told how the late star would be ‘bursting with pride’ at seeing son Bobby Brazier take part in Strictly Come Dancing.
EastEnders actor Bobby, 20, whom Jade shared with ex Jeff Brazier, was one of 15 celebrities announced for the line-up for the 2023 series starting next month.
And in a candid new interview, Jack Tweed, 36, who was with Jade for four years before her tragic death from cervical cancer in 2009, told how the Strictly superfan would have been over the moon at seeing her eldest boy take part.
He also told how the Big Brother favourite would likely have ‘won’ the BBC dancing competition should she have been given the chance to compete.
Jade, who also had son Freddie, 18, with ex-boyfriend Jeff, 44, was just 27 when she passed away on Mother’s Day – exactly one month after tying the knot with Jack.

Reflecting on Bobby’s achievements over the past few years including his EastEnders role and his modelling career which saw him walk for Dolce & Gabbana, Jack said that Jade would be ‘over-the-moon proud’ at all he’s done.
He added to The Sun: ‘Seeing Bobby grow into such a nice young man has been a lovely thing to see…. he is absolutely smashing it. Jade would be bursting with pride.’
And Jack reckons that Jade, who shot to fame on the third series of Channel 4 show Big Brother in 2002, would have won Strictly if the series had included reality stars at the time.
He shared: ‘Jade absolutely loved dancing shows like Strictly. She was really talented and an amazing singer. She won TV’s Stars In Their Eyes in 2006 because of how great her voice was.
‘Anything Jade put her mind to, she would be amazing at it, she would have won Strictly if she’d had the chance, and Bobby’s just like her, whatever he puts his mind to, he achieves it.’
Bobby’s former stepfather went on to say how he always knew the actor had ‘star quality’ from when he was young as he ‘loved to act’ as well as sing and dance as a child.
With his mother a big name in the showbiz industry, Jack recalled how it was clear Bobby – who was just five when Jade died – would follow in his mother’s footsteps.
He added that Bobby reminds him ‘so much’ of Jade, in particularly his caring side side, with Bobby always reaching out and checking on people.

Well done: ‘Seeing Bobby grow into such a nice young man has been a lovely thing to see…. he is absolutely smashing it. Jade would be bursting with pride’
Despite his pride at Bobby taking part, Jack admitted that there’s a part of him that will find it ‘hard’ as he looks so much like his late mother, but Jack insisted that he’s rather be reminded of Jade than to ‘forget about her’.
He added said Jade would be sitting in the audience cheering him on weekly if she were still alive, noting that she would have ‘loved’ to see how well both her boys were doing in life.
The son of late reality star Jade Goody and TV presenter Jeff Brazier joined the Albert Square cast as Little Mo Slater’s son Freddie in September 2022.
And he appeared live from the EastEnders set on BBC Breakfast last week to reveal the Strictly news.
He said while he was nervous to perform live he was excited to feel ‘a rush I haven’t felt before.’
When asked about his previous dance experience, this year’s youngest competitor confessed ‘I just like to party,’ adding he loves ‘house and disco music.’
As for the show’s famous lycra Bobby isn’t phased thanks to his ‘crazy’ costumes on EastEnders and his fashion background.

Bobby also admitted he hasn’t kept his new venture a secret, blurting out ‘I’ve told everyone!’ including his dad Jeff, who has his own background in reality shows.
He was just five-years-old when his mother Big Brother star Jade Goody died of cervical cancer after a six-month battle with the illness.
Bobby previously told The Times he doesn’t have many lasting memories of his mother because he was so young when she passed.
‘Not a whole lot,’ he said. ‘Maybe memories of memories. I’m always being told about her and what she meant to people. I guess I know my mum through other people’s memories of my mum.’
