Teenage rapper Lil Tay posts Instagram video with sports car
Social media sensation and rapper Lil Tay and her brother have died, with their family explaining their “unbearable loss” was “entirely unexpected”.
The family wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire’s sudden and tragic passing.
“We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain.”
They added: “This outcome was entirely unexpected, and has left us all in shock.
“Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief.”

The family went on to request privacy as the nature of Claire and Jason are investigated, while many of her 3.3 million Instagram followers pay tribute.
They added: “During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation.’
The statement concluded: “Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”
Lil Tay attracted a huge following – as well as critics – back in 2018 by in 2018 by bragging about her wealth in expletive-filled social media posts.
The Internet star’s exact age was never divulged, but it is believed she began her ascension to fame at the age of nine in 2017.

Lil Tay was originally from Canada but moved to Los Angeles, where she would shoot and post her viral videos.
Her fans took to her Instagram posts’ comments section to pay homage to the late TikTok star.

@A_akkiirra added: “RIP Youngest flexer of the Century,” while Raeszlds penned: “Sending my prayers to your gorgeous family.”
