Gwyneth Paltrow, 50, says women ‘want’ to age and not be ‘frozen in time’ but ‘culture’ shames older-looking females as she plugs ‘youth boost’ serum
Gwyneth Paltrow has touched on how difficult it can be for a woman to age in the United States.
The 50-year-old Oscar-winning actress maintained that most women ‘want’ to grow older naturally without the held of cosmetic surgery.
Her mother, film and stage actress Blythe Danner, 80, is a great example of that.
But the wife of Brad Falchuk added that often women feel they cannot let nature take its course as there is a ‘culture problem’ where women are made to feel bad if they look older.
The Iron Man actress made her comments to British Vogue to plug her brand GOOP.
Still hot: Gwyneth Paltrow has touched on how difficult it can be for a woman to age in the United States. Natural woman: But the wife of Brad Falchuk added that often women feel they cannot like nature take its course as there is a ‘culture problem’ in America where women are made to feel bad if they look older while men are not
‘I think it’s culture’s problem. It’s not ours!’ she claimed.
‘As women, we want to be healthy, we want to be aging. This idea that we’re supposed to be frozen in time is so weird.’
And she named a Hollywood star who has aged beautifully without the nips and tucks.
‘I love it when I hear somebody like Andie MacDowell, with her beautiful grey curls, talking about embracing aging and the difference between how we handle a George Clooney [compared to how most women are perceived],’ she said.
‘It’s handsome to go grey [as a man], but for women it’s like, “What do you plan to do about your wrinkles and your aging skin?”‘
She quickly added, ‘But again, we want to be aging! I think we want to be setting examples of how you can age.’
Paltrow was also careful to not shame women who prefer to get help with surgery.
‘They should do it how they want to do it,’ said the mother of two – she shares Apple and Moses with ex-husband Chris Martin.
‘Some women want to address every single thing aesthetically, and some women want to be a fabulous French grandmother who doesn’t ever do anything,’ shared the fitness expert.
She doesn’t want wrinkles: The Iron Man actress made her comments to British Vogue to plug her brand GOOP. Here the icon posed with ‘eye masks’ to ‘lift + depuff’
She does all she can do: She puts balm on her face, left, and the red carpet fixture uses a sleep mask for her beauty sleep
‘Everybody should be empowered to do it how they want to,’ she explained.
But clearly she does care about looking youthful.
She recently chatted up Goop’s Youth Boost Peptide Serum.
On her website it says: ‘For youthful, healthy-looking skin, this powerful, clinically tested all-in-one serum takes a 360-degree approach to target key signs of aging—wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, texture, firmness, elasticity, radiance, barrier support, and more.
The results surprised even plastic surgeon Dr. Julius Few, who conducted the clinical trials.
‘These are some of the most powerful results we’ve ever seen with a topical treatment,’ said Few.
Gwyneth also said. ‘I saw a noticeable difference in my skin after trying it for a week, and the results only got better from there. The before-and-afters are pretty amazing to look at—the way it works for every skin type—and along with all the visible benefits, I love how moisturizing it is.’

Made with peptides to address the look of wrinkles, ceramides and bifidus postbiotics for barrier support, phytoactive paracress and astaxanthin-rich microalgae for firming and lifting, and black tea ferment and niacinamide for glow and a more even complexion, along with safflower oleosomes and dragon’s blood to moisturize, the serum ‘works beautifully for all ages, all skin tones, and all skin types (including sensitive),’ it was added.
‘It was about asking how we age, naturally and beautifully, and without being afraid, but still preserving ourselves as best as possible,’ she told British Vogue.
‘I don’t want to erase time from the life I’ve lived, and I don’t have to be wrinkle free. But I do think that trying to maintain skin texture and luminosity is great,’ she continued. ‘This serum has all kinds of amazing things in it, including super peptides.’
