It comes after Katie revealed she has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and is receiving therapy to manage the condition.

The reality star has said she is learning to understand how the disorder has affected her past behaviour and said it explains why she has never felt that there will be ‘consequences’ for her actions.

The symptoms of ADHD include restlessness and difficulty concentrating, as well as excessive physical moving, talking and acting without thinking.

Discussing the diagnosis with Ok! magazine, she said: ‘I’ve tried to educate my mum, but my brain is wired differently to other people.

‘I hate labels, but now my mum and I have both spoken to doctors and she has realised why I’ve done things in the past, why I act the way I do, why I do things, why I am the way I am.

‘It’s not because I don’t listen and take it on board, there’s just something in me. I’ve got better now, I’ve learnt with therapy to hold back, to listen, and think of what other people are saying – maybe they’re right, maybe they’re wrong, but I think of the consequences.’

‘It didn’t exist in my head, a consequence, what could go wrong… So, I’ve learned. It’s taken me 45 years, but I’m still here.

Katie went on to say that her behaviour has put her in situations which caused ‘unnecessary drama and stress’.

The mother of five first started exploring the likelihood that she had ADHD at the end of last year, when she revealed she has been to see a doctor.

Katie, who is known for her tumultuous personal life, said at the time that she needed to have another appointment before she will know for sure.

Speaking to her paying subscribers on OnlyFans , Katie said: ‘I went to see a doctor to see if I have ADHD and it turns out, I probably have!

‘I have got some forms to fill out, say what I was like as a kid, my mum’s got to fill out forms and my dad, and then my next appointment is when I’m back from Thailand.’

Symptoms typically appear at an early age and become more noticeable as a child grows.

The majority of cases are diagnosed in children under the age of 12 but some people are not diagnosed until adulthood.

According to the NHS , the causes of ADHD are not known but the condition has been shown to run in families.

Katie – who has Harvey, 21, Junior, 18, Princess, 16, Jett, 10, and eight-year-old Bunny from previous relationships – has undergone multiple cosmetic surgeries in the past and acknowledged she may have body dysmorphia disorder.

This comes after she was spotted kissing her on/off boyfriend Carl Woods, seemingly suggesting that they are giving their relationship yet another go.

They could be seen sharing a smooch as Carl, 34, dropped the former glamour model and her daughter Bunny to a nail salon in Sussex.

Katie recently hinted she was in a relationship as she told her sister Sophie on her new podcast that she couldn’t imaging having to date again and use dating apps.

Their rekindled romance comes after Katie’s mum Amy, 70, recently slammed Carl in her new book, accusing the former Love Island star of ‘using’ her daughter for fame.

Also referencing her ex-husband Kieran Hayler, Amy said: ‘Kieran and Carl are also men who crave fame and have used Kate as a springboard for their social media feeds.’

After also branded her other exes Peter Andre and Dane Bowers as ‘controlling’, Amy said that Katie’s second husband Alex Reid was a ‘complex exhibitionist who came along when Kate was at her lowest ebb’, adding that Carl is ‘of a similar ilk.’

Elsewhere, it was reported last week that Katie reportedly bombarded ex-boyfriend Carl with over 100 phone calls after seeing pictures of him with a mystery blonde.

The former glamour model was said to be furious after seeing the snaps just weeks after their split was announced.

Car dealer Carl was spotted wrapping his arm around the unknown woman as they strolled together in Las Vegas.

With a source telling The Sun: ‘Katie started calling as soon as she saw the photos – she was furious – but he didn’t pick up.

Having her say: Meanwhile, her apparent reconciliation with Carl comes as her mum Amy slammed him and her ex-husband Kieran Hayler in her book The Last Word (pictured in 2019)

No holding back: Amy said that Kieran  Hayler and Carl ‘craved fame’ and used her daughter as a ‘springboard’ for their ‘social media feeds’

‘She messaged saying she was throwing everything he’d left at the house in the bin.

Katie launched into foul-mouthed rant against the woman pictured with Carl in a now deleted post.

She didn’t take too kindly to the Carl moving on as she shared a snap of the pair and branded the woman a ‘tramp’ who she claimed ‘f**ked’ her ex before being ‘chucked’ by him.

In the furious tirade shared to her Instagram stories on Wednesday night, Katie said the woman – who was seen holding Carl’s hand – had ‘no respect for herself’, before claiming that Carl said she was ‘boring’ and lacked ‘experience’.

WHAT IS ADHD?

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a behavioural condition defined by inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.

It affects around five per cent of children in the US. Some 3.6 per cent of boys and 0.85 per cent of girls suffer in the UK.

Symptoms typically appear at an early age and become more noticeable as a child grows. These can also include:

  • Constant fidgeting
  • Poor concentration
  • Excessive movement or talking
  • Acting without thinking
  • Inability to deal with stress
  • Little or no sense of danger
  • Careless mistakes
  • Mood swings
  • Forgetfulness
  • Difficulty organising tasks
  •  Continually starting new tasks before finishing old ones
  • Inability to listen or carry out instructions

Most cases are diagnosed between six and 12 years old. Adults can also suffer, but there is less research into this.

ADHD’s exact cause is unclear but is thought to involve genetic mutations that affect a person’s brain function and structure.

Premature babies and those with epilepsy or brain damage are more at risk.

ADHD is also linked to anxiety, depression, insomnia, Tourette’s and epilepsy.

There is no cure.

A combination of medication and therapy is usually recommended to relieve symptoms and make day-to-day life easier.
