Chris Cuomo brands Sylvester Stallone a ‘cartoonish fool’ in bizarre rant and declares he ‘doesn’t love’ any of star’s iconic characters such as Rocky and Rambo
Chris Cuomo has branded acting legend Sylvester Stallone a ‘cartoonish fool’ in a bizarre rant during an appearance on The Adam Friedland Show on Wednesday.
The disgraced former CNN anchor, 52, laid into the Rocky star, 76, and said he ‘doesn’t love’ any of his legendary characters in the candid chat.
The chat began when Friedland asked if his former co-worker Wolf Blitzer ever had his ‘penis out under the desk’ to which Cuomo responded ‘no, I called him ‘the captain’ when I was there. He was the exemplar of everything we wanted to be. The guy works his ass off and he’s a good man.’
Friedland responded: ‘He’s like a Stallone character’ to which Cuomo replied: [But] instead of being a cartoonish fool, Blitzer is just an earnest good guy.’
A quizzical Friedland asked: ‘You’re anti-Stallone?’ to which Cuomo said he ‘didn’t love’ the characters the Oscar winner has played.

Stallone is widely considered one of the greatest screen stars of all time, with his most famous role as Italian Stallion and underdog boxer Rocky Balboa, who he has played in eight films.
Cuomo was given the boot from CNN in late 2021 for doling out advice to his brother, the then-Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo, as he battled a sexual misconduct scandal.
It was also revealed that Chris used his media connections and contacts to check on stories in the pipeline about his brother and trafficked the information back to the governor’s operatives.
Back in February Cuomo shared his struggle on ‘Open Book with Anthony Scaramucci,’ the podcast hosted by the former White House communications director whose tenure at the podium lasted all of a week and a half.
‘I had to accept [the CNN termination] because I was going to kill everybody, including myself. Things can consume you,’ he said.
He added: ‘Italians are so passionate and I really had to fight against that because… I got too many people counting on me.’
The on-air journalist, who is now back behind a desk, said he ‘makes a lot of mistakes’ and began seeing a therapist after being ‘s**t-canned’ by the CNN higher-ups.
‘There is damage that is relatable, there is damage that is unrelatable to people that I have to deal with, that I am working on,’ he said.
