Samsung faces new Android competition from an iconic smartphone rival

Samsung continues to make some of the best bendable phones with its range of Z Fold and Z Flip devices some of the most popular on the planet. However, its dominance could soon be challenged with the release of a new and very iconic device from the team at Motorola. The firm’s Razr devices have been pushing the boundaries since they first launched all the way back in 2004.

Now this famous flippable device appears to be getting a major reboot with the company confirming that it is launching something new on June 1.

In a post on social media, Motorola said, “ Flip the Script, June 1, 2023” along with revealing a silhouetted image that shows a device unfolding.

No other details have been officially revealed but there have been plenty of leaks ahead of the event which suggest Motorola could be bringing a pretty radical upgrade to its Razr range.

Images posted online claim to show a phone with a cover screen that fills the entire front of the device. That would make it one of the biggest displays to appear on a flip phone and is certainly a lot larger than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip4 which only features a 1.9-inch panel.

Other rumours suggest that the new Razr will get a speedy Snapdragon processor under its shell and include a main display with a 120Hz refresh rate for super-fast scrolling.

A dual-lens camera could feature along with other bonus extras such as gesture controls and fast charging.

Full specs, price and release date should be announced on June 1 and Express.co.uk will be at the launch event to bring you full details as they are revealed.
